According to mowers direct there are semi pro mowers as well. When you google semi commercial zero turns the husqvarna mz series mowers are shown. My local dealer says the s50xt mowers are semi commercial. I didn't make the term up.

If your tearing up the turf try using a Y-Turn at the end of every pass. You said you have a little problem on the incline in the front yard, how are you mowing the incline? up and down or across the incline or slope?

I'm trying it both ways, I have a line of trees on the slope, when I mow in line I have no problem, it's when I try to turn up hill to mow between the trees is when I lose traction.
When I try to mow down hill then back up I lose traction, if I back down the hill then drive up the hill, then I have no problem.
There is a ditch at the bottom of the incline that is why I have to back up.
I went to the Y turn which works great, thank you!

it might be fine but I don't think it's good to drive around at 1/4th the throttle. Though I could be wrong.

I should have made it clearer, when I first start the engine cold I run the engine at 1/4 throttle until I get to the front yard then the hydros and engine are warmed up, then I move the throttle to 1/2 then engage the blades, then let them run that way for a minute before opening the throttle.
Then I mow the whole yard wide open, that way nothing is operated cold at maximum rpm.............running cold is what ruins the equipment.

I don't think it good on the hydros to move around unless at full throttle either. Makes the hydros whine bad at anything less than full throttle. Wingstrut, have you considered adding fluid to the rear tires?

If the tires have tubes, then fluid would be the way to go, my tractors tires are full of fluid for traction.
There is a fluid that is used for that purpose.
I have only mowed the yard twice, so I haven't really figured out the best way to proceed, I really appreciate all the ideas, that will give me many alternatives to choose from............Thanks guys!
I just thought of something, I could eat more ribs and buffalo wings and gain about thirty pounds then I wouldn't have to mess with all that other stuff.....Lol

Lol, you would have to eat an awful lot of ribs to gain a couple hundred pounds. Backing up a hill is going to cause traction problems, even with extra weight. I have a power pole and some crate mertles that I have to mow around on a slope. I go around the top first and make the turn around them. I don't pull back on the way down because I lose traction. I let it continue to turn slightly back towards the pole, then I back parallel to the slope and go forward and turn back up the hill wrapping around the pole/tree. Works well for me and I don't chew the grass up.

Another problem with extra weight on the back is that it increases soil compaction on your lawn and will cause very visible tire impressions.

Semi commercial is what I call estate mowers. Designed for large lawns, but not for commercial landscaping. The larger pumps also generate more torque which is better if the operator wants to pull implements. Won't argue with you about separate pumps and motors being better. One advantage of hydro gear pumps is there are no hydraulic lines. Reduces the possibility of leaks.

According to mowers direct there are semi pro mowers as well. When you google semi commercial zero turns the husqvarna mz series mowers are shown. My local dealer says the s50xt mowers are semi commercial. I didn't make the term up.

I really don't care what Mowers Direct or Husqvarna say. They'll say anything to sell you a mower. Cub Cadet claimed that there Z-Force was a commercial mower and it had commercial drives which were the 2800 drive but it was no more than there high end residential. Hydro gear who makes the things says The ZT-3100 is designed for commercial applications. The zt3400 and the zt5400 are designed for heavier commercial applications, that comes from there site.

How does your dealer get semi commercial out of compact, easy-to use S50xt is designed specifically for the daily rigors of commercial mowing. This mower may be small in size, but it’s big on features. Now it may be low end Commercial but it's still commercial according to the Snapper site.

Just going by what the dealer said. Not splitting hairs. As I mentioned earlier I didn't make the phrase up. You see the zt3100 hydros on what some companies refer to as estate mowers. Those mowers are intended for large properties, not the rigors of commercial landscaping. Not trying to upset you just going by what I read and what I have been told by a dealer I trust. I have seen the Snapper Pro site many times and I have read that as well.

You said Semi commercial is what you call an estate mower. What do 3100 drives have to do with estate mowers? I do agree that an estate mowers more commonly known as a finishing or grooming mowers are intended for large properties, not for commercial lawn-care but I don't see where the 3100 drives play a part.

The estate mowers I have read about had the zt3100 and zt3200 hydros. One example is bush hog brand mowers. Check their website. You call them low end commercial, my dealer and I call them semi commercial, bush hog calls them estate mowers. As I said its kind of splitting hairs.
