It sound to me like you bought a new mower with a full warranty. If its the same mower what in the world are you complaining about as to what year it was made? It sound to me you are getting upset over nothing. Run and enjoy your new mower, life is to short to get upset as to when your new mower was made.

So let me see if I understand your logic correctly. If I was to go down to a ford dealership today and purchase a 2014 F150. The sale is finalized and the dealer brings the truck from around back for me to take home and it is a 2012. As long as it has the same warranty as the 2014 I should take the 2012 home and be happy paying the same price for it as the 2014 I test drove?

Hey now,
He is going to get better support than he would from a big box store.
He is getting a better machine than he can get from a big box store.
He is supporting the local economy. He is getting personalized service and advice.
He is spending more but will get it back later with discounts and deals.
He is going to get a loaner when his needs to be worked on.
He is, well he]], getting ripped off.
No other way to say it.

My lawyer friend said here in GA that is theft by deception. You ordered a 2014 model and paid for a 2014 model and they gave you a 2012 model.

I would go see them and call them out on it.

Heck I might even kick his azz

Spoken like a true Georgian!!

Last update on this. I went back to the dealer today and explained my frustrations. I won't go into all the detail that took place in the information exchange but ultimately they agreed to refund the money and let me return the mower. This was after some small attempts to make it right. So it's back to square one on my mower shopping but I feel relieved and learned some valuable life lessons. Note to all of you. Always verify you are receiving what you actually bought with your serial numbers! Model numbers can be the same for many years at a time. Hopefully I won't have to do this again for another 15 years. Again I know there were mixed reactions on this throughout the thread but I appreciate the different point of views.

Well glad to hear it worked out for you. It's your money so it's your decision. Atleast that dealer saved some face by letting you return it.

Did they not have the mower you wanted?

I would find a new dealer and still get the toro.

I bought a new 2014 Toro SS 4260 on 8/20/14, end of year Super Sale, I watched my Dealer open the box mine was crated in, & Build date was June of 2014.. (100 year Anniversary for Toro)

I have Toro's Headquarters ph number should you or anyone want it.. Just PM me.

If that Dealer has a 2012 left over, he isn't moving much stock, I asked if there were any left over models myself, to try & save a few pennies.. Nothing, All sold..

The 2014 Toro TimeCutter SS 4260 come standard with:

1) Tow hitch (standard on all 2014 models)

2)Hour gauge

3) 18" Extra-tall seat back

4) HOC = Foot assist deck lift

5) Rubber anti-vibe mat

I love my Toro... Loaded nicely, & really cuts beautifully. Glad you got your $$ back & Hope you find a better Dealer.

Its not the same thing, he's buying a mower not a pickup truck. Put the two mower side by side and you will have two mowers the same, not so on a pick up truck. The OP is getting up tight over nothing. I guess what I am saying if it was me it wouldn't upset me, the next person like you yes it will. Also I do my homework before I buy something not after.

When I buy something of any value I am the type of person that dickers for price. If its a older year mower I would use that to my advantage. The very first thing you need for this is know what you are buying. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Know what you are buying before the sale not after. Then when you talk to the dealer you have to let him know that you don't have a problem about walking out the door without buying. The sales person dose this for a living and know this. Its too late after the sale that you don't like what you bought, you own it unless you buy it from some of the big box stores. Just what makes you think that a dealer going to give you your money back after you used his mower and now don't like it. Now he has a used mower he has to sell at a new mower price. So this is the reason I am saying be happy with what you bought because you will just be spinning you wheels and going no where. I have a friend that bought a new trailer and ordered it over the phone because he wanted the same thing that I have. When he picked up his new trailer he wondered why he paid 300 dollars more then I did. That just isn't the way to dicker for price I told him.
