The Nationalist & the Communists had been engaged in a civil war since 1927 when the Great Depression caused the European backers of the Nationalist Government to withdraw their support and the Russian saw a chance to get access to the vast mineral resources in Manchuria , so they stirred up the impoverished feudal peasants to support the various communists / socialists groups to rise against the Nationalist overlords.
Remember Europe & the UK did to China what the UK did to India only on a larger scale .
Thus the Chinese civil war commenced and ran rampant & bitter till the Japanese invaided in 1936 for the same reason as Russia, the mineral deposits in Manchuria so for a while the Communists & Nationalist joined forces to fight the Japanese .
Now the Chinese forces were very much obsolete mostly WW I hand me downs ( at very high prices ) so the USA allowed the Nationalist Government ( not the communists ) to BUY US aircraft & air crews + ammo, again at very favourable terms to the USA .
This was what eventually became known as the Flying Tigers and while they were very successful in halting the Japanese incursion , they were not good enough to push the Japanese out of China all together.
Should this have happened then Pearl Harbour would not have happened because Japan was very resource poor .
Paying for the US help bankrupted the Nationalist Government who were also forced to buy raw materials to compensate for the ones Japan was using to build it arms with to rebuild what Japanese troops ( mainly bombers ) had destroyed
And to the Japanese, they were already at war with the USA so to them Pearl Harbour was a stragetic blow against a country they were already at war with in China , not the unprevoked act of agression that the post WWII US propaganda depicted it as .
Remember the victorious write the history of the vanquished to suit their own needs .
There is real history & the Disney Land version of history we all were brainwashed with .
Large military forces, provide jobs for peasants and make the population feel the government is keeping them safe & secure , a leaf China took from the USSR's play book.
But China has no intention of using them they are to keep the occupants of the cheap seats amused while they take over the movie theatres.

When all American companies are taking their manufacturing to china... one doesn't have much choice but to buy chinese made stuff.

The politicians on both sides failed us by forgetting what communism is.... now we have a pres that is owned by the chinese and continually makes decisions that end up benefiting china!

The President is not in the pocket of the Chinese, he is beholden to Wall St , in fact every President since President Regan has been the same with the sole exception of President O'bahma who got elected with crowd funding so should have been able to clean out the money grubbers but he ended up being just as bad as the rest .
Money has no nationalism and money makes have no national alliances it just has unfulfilled greed.
Perfect example is Rupet Murdoch who sold out his nationality for no reason other than he could make more money by becoming a US citizen a true enemy of the people .
The enemy is Wall St not the other colour party.
It is businesses driven by the USA Management theory of the Triple Bottom Line ( Princeton University ) that drives them to seek the absolute highest possible profit level with the minimum amount of capital investment and no regard for what they destroy along the way.
Nothing to do with the differences between capitalism & communism
It is all about greed and nothing more than greed .
Look at the profits of the listed companies in the USA most running at record levels, but all of it stays in Wall St and very little finds it's way to Poverty Place like President Regan promised it would "trickle down" to .
For a capitalist based economy to work every one has to have the oppertunity to participate on an equal footing and make a reasonable profit, and a reasonable portion of this profit needs to go back to those workers who created the profit .
And it is the duty of the governments to keep the balance with properly enforced regulations
However successive US Governments have abrigated this duty thus allowing the Waltons to decimate local retail with Walmart and then Bezos to kill off the remainder with Amazon then perverted the foundation basis of capitalism by declairing some businesses "too big to be allowed to fail " so bail out badly run businesses, like the banks or McDonald Douglass

And really the our President is only a scapegoat most times as it is Congress that holds the power. And we really need term limits of them too. This way we can get new uncorrupt blood per say / new thinking and those that are not so behold to the millionaires, billionaires, or other special interest groups.

Currently we will never get any where as the political parties are only looking out for themselves and not the people that put them in office.

Now I do admit the last president did try to be a dictator and would do the same if voted back into office. He has gotten his so brainwashed that they believe anything he say as gospel truth much like Adolf Hitler did.

Personally I judge people by their deeds and not their words.

While we are getting deep into politics , I do agree with this 100%
Remember the Germans were one of the best educated population on the planet at the time they voted Mr Hitler into power
And the similarities between his methods & president Trumps methods are frightening .
OTOH I can understand why the US population decided to give Mr Trump a try because the choices you were presented with were mirror images of each other and frankly just a pair of slease bag politicians who you would not buy a used mower from let alone a car so a business man who has not lived his entire life sucking money from the public purse did have some appeal .
Luckily down here we have several minor parties so there is a reasonable choice of which lunatics we put in charge and even then we voted a record number of independants into parliament this year because like the US population we were sick & tired of do nothing politicians .
Unfortunately the USA has a constitution that is near impossible to change
It was written to appease the wealth Southerners so there would never be another Civil war so you got life time senators .
Ours do a term that is double the parliament & we only vote for 1/2 at any election so that causes good stability and prevents both side from running amock

The Covid is raising its ugly head around here again. One of my customer's wives and him are back in quarantine as she came down with it again plus I lost one of my competitors to Covid recently. Hope he don't get it as with his health problems he surely don't it.

Most people around here have thrown out the window the precautions we should still be taking but it is their health and not mine. But I live in a Republican state and most are following FOX News. I still on the very cautious side myself. I just don't want it as I had enough problems with the last bout with pneumonia that nearly killed me. It took years to fully recover.

And I have read where Russia has turn to their jails for soldiers to fight in Ukraine yet they are saying they haven't lost many soldiers. If true something tells me they are lying again and are getting desperate.

Well back to other subjects.

Almost no government was willing to do what was needed to eliminate covid which is DEAD EASY, all you have to do is make every one stay home for 1 month and those who can not have to be isolated from the general population so they can not spread it. Then make every person who travels undergo proper quarantine , not the sham quarantine we did down here .
It is a virus that is destroyed by sunlight , UV rays, heat over 70 deg C , chlorine, alcohol, caustic soda most strong acids or strong bases, euculiptus oil , tea tree oil and heaven only knows what else .
It can persist in a lab or building with no sunlight for a maximum of 3 days .
So if and that is a massive IF it can become a purely medical issue then it can be eliminated in 1 month
But political parties decided to make it a political problem so they could bash each other with it because on both sides all of them have plenty of money so they and their immediate family will get medical care in order to recover and if 100,000,000 US citizens die then who gives a wrinkled rats rectum , no politicans that is for sure and most of them will be the politically undesireables so it will be a good thing for the country & the party .

As for Ukrane & the way, Russia will eventually win unless some one puts a bullet through Tzar Putins head but Tzar Putin is some what like President Trump and has brainwashed a good percentage of the population into believing he is the saviour of their country and can do no wrong .
As for manning the army, when there is little chance of you getting killed it is a good career move for well educated elite and of course just about the only job for the underclasses where they have a guaranteed income .
As for using prisoners , litterally kills 2 birds with the one stone .
If they are unsuccessful then they are gone so one problem solved and if they are victorious there is always accidential friendly fire so 2 problems solved .

I look at this way the governments is using Covid as one way to control the population problem. Another is to have wars to thin the population.

And is always doing as they in the movie "Soylent Green" where they turned people into food and the masses went crazy for it.
