Long story short-- my son downsized his home (lawn) and I got his cub cadet. It is a 1330 model 132-233f100 with a Kohler 12.5 hp moter. There is no builders date on the mower but I have the oringial owners receipt dated 10-30- 1993. $2999.
It came with a half tank of fuel, can I put fuel satalizer in the tank or should I drain her? I charged the battery and it's holding charge. It's being stored in an unheated building, so should I pull the battery for the winter? What else should I do before I store her. OH, I did an oil and filter change.

Use stabilizer if you want, add it to the fuel then start it and let it run for a few min to allow it to mix and be in the fuel in the carburetor... I have a Cub Cadet 1450 since the mid 70's I have sometime used stabilizer, sometimes not...
No advantage to removing the battery, those small batteries are around $20 each and will generally last 2 or 3 years... Have had a few last 4 or 5... add distilled water when they need it & keep the top clean.
Air the tires up, if you have a slow leak, block that wheel up so the side walls are not left flat over winter... Not much else to do... I change my oil and sharpen the blades in the spring, and it's always ready to start out a new year... KennyV

Howdy!

Just bought a well used Cub Cadet LT 1042 with a snow blower. Wouldn't start so I replace the solenoid. Runs fine now. But with all the black gunk around the spark plug area I think a valve cover gasket is needed. Will adjust the valves while I'm at it.

I have a 982 that I bought back in the mid 90s when I moved out in the country. It was restored by the dealer with a new engine, paint, seat, tires, decals, dash, steering wheel, and much more. I have a 52" deck and the very HD 60" that came with it. I also have a snowblower that I don't use. Other than tightening bolts now and then, and changing the battery once, it is trouble free. I have never treated it as a show mower and it gets used often.
