Hello everyone!

I hope to get your input on which Kohler engine is better the 23hp - V-Twin OHV Command or the 23 hp Professional-grade Kohler V-Twin OHV. I am looking at buying a Cub and want a tractor that will last me 12 years or longer but was not sure which of the Kohler engines would be better over the long haul. I also see that Cub offers the Kawasaki V-Twin in some of the tractors as well, but not in the larger tractors.

Just looking for some input before I buy.

Thanks,
SCP / Michigan

WELCOME to LMF....

Neither is going to last like the older Kohler engines did... But the Command series is a LOT better than the Professional-grade (Courage) series....

Thanks for responding Kenny. I was thinking the Command series might be the better engine since its offered in the Cub 2000 series and not in the 1000 series Cub tractors. Have a good spring and thanks again.

Hi! I just "rescued" a Cub Cadet 1000 series. Never had a Cub before. Probably need to post a few questions before she's up and running the way I want. First thing is, the previous owner says the belts are new--and they look new--but I'm wondering if, when he installed them, he misaligned the blades, since they run into each other when it turns. There are timing marks, it looks like, on the notched pulleys that turn the blades. What direction do they need to be pointing to be properly aligned?

Hello Everyone ! ! !

I have a 3225 that needs some work on the deck. it's a 60" deck and the rear rollers and axle are shot. Worn almost halfway through the axle..... I have been a member for a while but have not had time to use the site. Hoping to spend more time here and learn some things from eveyone here and hopefully share some info also. One thing I am learning is Cub Cadet Parts sure are expensive. Does anyone have a good online source for parts?

Hello fellow Grass Masters!

Just checking in! I just joined the forum and am looking forward to being a member. I own a Cub Cadet RTZ 50 zero turn and it has been the best lawnmower I have ever owned. It is a 2006 model and has mowed 3 acres of grass every summer since 06. I have never had to to do anyhting to it except replace the blades, belt, and normal maintenance. Well I did have to re-weld one of the wheel struts on the deck because the weld broke.I also had to replace one of those little deck suspension cables, but other than that, I feel like I am lucky to have only small repairs in 7 years of rough service.
The engine still runs strong and doesn't use oil so I hope I can squeeze a few more years out of her!

Great to be here...............Rocketman:smile:

Hi there. Nice forum. I own a model 13ax91at596. Love this machine, hopefully it'll be the last mower I ever need to buy!

Hey Everyone.

New member here. 1st time on a mower forum. I'm more comfortable with the 2 wheeled forums, but here goes...
Just ordered a new ZForce S commercial 48" mower. My dealer told me he should have it in towards the end of next week, so if the snow stays away I may be mowing with it by next weekend.
