It's looking great Doc! I will say again, I sure wish we lived closer together.. I could sit on a barrel and kibitz while you worked. I'm sure I'd learn something!
As an aside, I was unaware that you had pissed anyone off! At least no one around here...

Shindaiwa

Bert-Man,

Ichi-bon-son-san, who has his own landscaping business, will only use those motorized "brooms", that are made by Shindaiwa. He swears by them.

I recently tried to repair a broken off handle of a hedge trimmer he had. I was surprised at how light the handle casting was! (That is what broke.) I tried to repair it with steel inserts embedded in JB Weld "Steel Stick", which I hoped would tie the two sections of the handle together.. It didn't work, broke off the first time he tried it. "Steel Stick" is not as strong as I hoped it would be. I now wonder if 3,500 psi epoxy would have been a better choice, it would have 'flowed' in around the bits of steel I used to help strengthen the break. The steel stick required me to force it in place, there may have been some unseen voids. Oh well, I do ALL of it for fun, making a profit never seems to be in the cards anyway.

Ron,

I'll say the same to you as I did to Doc. I was unaware that you've pissed anyone off.. Or is it just this thread where you guys get along?? LOL . . . This is a fairly congenial group, which is only appropriate for a forum designed to help and assist others. It is certainly no place to have hate and discontent. There is plenty of that to be found elsewhere.

in general Roger, but I know there are two people on this forum that would love if I just popped off and didn't return....:laughing:

I don't tend to be long winded, I speak my mind, and keep responses simple and concise.......then there is anytime after beer-thirty, might say some things I shouldn't...

Re: MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild

Borrowing a friends car trailer so I can pick up my new purchase on Saturday, always wanted an 800 series, so I am very happy. Even comes with a spare engine and differential.

I will post pictures of it when I get a chance. I spent some time with the seller yesterday, we stripped it down to the engine(removed hood and radiator). Located the cause of it being a no start. Broken governor control lever, sadly it jammed into the camshaft gear and broke off three teeth......but with the spare engine I will still have it up and running by spring, need to finish my FCUB first.

Sorry, my POLISH is showing ...did you mean in trouble with the wifey, or the law-doggies, ??? ...OR...???

Just by chance, you wouldn't have any Maruyama trimmer/brushcutters layin around,..would ya..???

No Maruyamas. The gas weedeaters I picked up are about 75% Craftsman, 20% Troy-Bilt, and 1 Ryobi, 1 John Deere and 1 Husqvarna.

Ichi-bon-son is RIGHT !!! I have a pair of Shindaiwa "stick-edgers" an LE-20 & a LE-230, both over 20 years old, I rescued them from a guy was going to trash them cause he ran into a wind-fall of cash and decided to buy all new equipment, of course he bought NEW Shindaiwa, .. I replaced the blades, cleaned the carbs, new plugs, & filters,.. "Voila".. like new, my only problem has been finding parts for these ( old machines are harder to get parts for) but I did manage to buy the complete fuel system parts, filters, primer-bulb, hoses & special "fittings" including the fuel tanks, but not the carbs. earlier this year, hopefully, they will outlive me......

Ya know..... Goomba is comin down here (Crystal-River) for winter runaway, we will most likely get together , AGAIN !! Now where in Fl. do you reside, live, call home, have your mail delivered to, the place the FBI, Homeland-Security,and the local Swat-teams are watching ... we could possibly plan a devious day of B/S and enjoy a meal someplace !! ...:cool2:..:dance1:....
