Re: MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild

I have this little cub cadet 100..........planning on stretching it about 16 inches, then adding this 4 cylinder flathead engine to it.

Oct. 30, 2017 Storm

Hi all,

Today is Saturday and we just got CATV, Land-Line and Internet back sometime last night.. Still no power though. At the height of the storm there were over 400,000 power outages here in Maine! That effects over 50% of the entire population! As of this morning there are still over 35,000 without power with just one of the power companies and that includes us! There are line-crews from 14 states and Canada helping out, so we hope we may have power by the end of today.

We were lucky, as we only had one-half of a maple tree at the top of our driveway split off and lodge in trees on the other side of the drive like a cross bar. It was 16-18-feet off the ground so we could drive under it. I roped it up and was able to haul it down with the four wheel drive. It's already cut-up, split and stacked in the woodshed.

We have a small camp on a little pond about 20 minutes from here and a large pine tree blew over and missed the corner of the porch (that I built in 2005) by about 6 inches!! The branches didn't even break any of the four windows on that side, The tree was 18" in diameter at the butt and over 60-feet tall. it would have crushed the porch roof for sure! The lot is covered with large pines and that was the only one we lost.

Our middle grand daughter got a nice deer Thursday afternoon after school. It's all cut-up, packaged and in the freezer. (They got their power back on Wednesday.)

We pretty much stayed home and caught up on our book reading..

Hope all you guys have been fine..

Re: MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild

When Roger gets his power back on and back to his computer, this is for you Rog.
While resting on the seafloor in total quiet, no power just batteries.

"One Ping!,......One Ping Only."

Thanks Doc,

I know you pulled that out of some movie that I ought to remember, but crap, I suffer from CRS so badly, I can hardly remember my own name sometimes!

However, we never "ping" (it gives you away..) Besides we can tell anything we want to know just by listening. (Even range - but that's a secret!!)

Re: MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild

Damn, it just occurred to me, that if Roger has no power and half of Maine is without power.......the parts I ordered Saturday are not going to be here tomorrow. Now I know why I did not receive a shipment email yet.

Doc,

Windham is fairly near Portland and other large population areas, so hopefully they should be back on line soon!

Re: MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild

Maybe we can keep the thread alive til the original Yardman Transaxle needs repairing again...
Or...better yet....dies of old age...........

Ron,

I'll have you know that is MY transaxle and I did a fine job of rebuilding it.. In fact I was just looking at the weld, (the case had a serious crack) because I had just been hauling wood with the trailer I built and probably over loaded the Yardman just a 'little'!! It's going to last a good long time! (The John Deere, Green, Corn Head Grease is the secret though!!)

Re: MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild

by the time Roger gets his power and internet back on, he will have 50 pages to read, and two or three strange conversations to sort out, js:laughing:

Doc,

You got that right brother!! Holy smokes, you guys got Bert-man all shook up! He's made more posts over the last couple of days than ever before.. I couldn't even open the video you posted because I had to "Sign-In" to open it and I never 'sign-in' if I can help it.

I still have several more pages to skim over to catch up.
