Re: MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild

So good to hear from ya "James" , hope Bama don't get any of Harvey,... Looks like Tom and a good portion of Texas is taking a really bad thrashing, I've been following the weather and especially around the Houston area where I THINK Tom is located, I don't think we'll hear much from him for awhile, One thing for sure, those folks are going to have one helluva mess to clean-up ! A VERY sad situation .
we have relatives in Austin last we heard from them the power was off but they are ok.

Hurricane Harvey

I have a shipmate who lives in Conroe which is just outside Houston and I received an email from him this morning. Here is what he sent from his I-Phone: We are inside and the roof doesn't leak. Lots of roads closed. Both cars full of
gas and just waiting. Biggest prob is lack of dry place to walk the dogs.

I told him to put the dogs on a long rope and send them out. With luck they won't get caught up in the pucker-willows.

Conroe is near Tom and also Sugarland, where the woman lives that owns the condo we've rented in Rockport (where the eye of the storm came ashore) for next winter. I haven't heard anything from either of them yet.

USS Argonaut SS-166 & USS Seawolf SS-197

After posting the boats serving out of Brisbane, Australia that were lost during WWII, I realized I couldn't recall why the Argonaut was carrying 105 people and the Seawolf had 99 people aboard. A normal crew compliment on those boats was just over 70 men.

It would seem that the Argonaut was carrying Marine Raiders and the Seawolf was carrying Army personnel. These men would have been sent ashore in the dead of night for special missions...

Here is the Argonauts story: http://www.oneternalpatrol.com/uss-argonaut-166.htm

Here is the Seawolfs story: http://www.oneternalpatrol.com/uss-seawolf-197-loss.html

I don't mean to harp on the subject, but I consider all these men my brothers. The first two submarines I served aboard were from the WWII era. My first boat the USS Tigrone AGSS-419 actually made war patrols at the end of the war.

Not really Doc,
I don't vote for major parties but the deeper I get into political history the more I hope the cockroaches make a better job of running the planet than we have done.
As you may have gathered I have neither any political affiliations nor religious ones, although I was brought up christian.
OTOH I have had the honour of working side by side with a lot of different nationalities and different religions.
I am yet to find a religion that did not exploit their followers and act in a plain criminal mannar.
We have just concluded our Royal Commision and the actions of religious, government & charitiable organizations to cover up brutiality, depravity & pediofilia is sickening.
The Japanese treated some of our prisioners better than some groups treated defenceless children.

Then we see everyone playing the "poor victium me" card and the more guilty they are the harder they play the card.
