Shughes, Thank you very much for your support, it looks like my choice will depend on the dealer, the mowers seem pretty much the same, about the only major difference is the Kubota has somewhat narrow front tires, that's about it, everything is made in the US the best I can tell.

I just received this info, so I thought I would put it here just for your information.

I sent a request to Briggs and Stratton about their engines and they sent me back a letter stating that all their engines are made in the US except the smaller single cyl stuff used on push type mowers, pressure washers and the like.
Kohler said something similar..............Basically their multi cyl. engines are made in the US.............That came from the manufacturer not the dealer or someone who thinks they know where they are made.

I've seen this topic come up many times that is why I wrote these companies.............Ron

I'm really looking forward to getting my ZTM, I think I can actually mow my yard three times a week and still be able to cut a lot of grass. Ha!Ha!
I really fret over stuff like this and you have helped me considerably, thanks again!

No problem, that's what this site is for. I'm glad I could help. Btw, technically kawasaki engines, and the vanguard ( made by daihatsu) are both Japanese made engines. They may have factories in the U.S. But either way they are both top of the line engines.

Anymore the Japanese engines are pretty good, it's the Chinese junk we don't want.

If you don't mind, make sure you let me know what you went with and post a picture once you have made your decision.

I certainly will, it looks like I may go with the Snapper because, I'm using a trade in and the Kubota dealer wants to make sure he has my trade in sold before he deals with me.
The Snapper dealer will trade without question.......I will let you know either way.............Ron

The snapper pro is a quality machine. I have no complaints with mine.

Well, I contacted the Kubota dealer to see if he would sell me a mower without my trade in but he went up on the price about 400.00
I ordered a Snapper S50XT pro, should be in next week, will send pictures, if I can get off of it long enough to take some.
Thanks again for the help and support!.............Ron
PS: I'm like a kid with a new toy...................can't wait!

You made a fine choice. I would have gone with the snapper pro over the kubota myself. The kubota is a good mower as well, but you get a better engine with the snapper pro. I was too busy this week to get to my lawn and went 10 days between mowing. Had 95 degree temps with a heavy rain. The grass was higher than it's been since I purchased my place. Took me 3.5 hours to mow, but my snapper pro handled that high grass with no problems and left a great cut. There are places that the clippings are thick on, but that's to be expected when you don't mow regularly. I couldn't have mowed grass that high with my old mower. The only problem you should have with that mower is that you will finish mowing too fast.

Thanks for the support, I was leaning toward the Snapper at the end even if Kubota gave me a good deal.
The Snapper has an FX engine, as you know is their top of the line, (I'm a motor head anyway) the tires are nice and wide at 10 inches and a decent diameter at 20 inches, wider is always better.
The only drawback if you want to call it that, is the seat is not sprung, which won't make a difference on my small yard.
As far as getting done too quickly, I thought of that, all I have to do is mow at 4.5 inches then mow again at 4 inches that way I will have two acres to mow.....Ha!Ha!

The lady at the mower shop said, I will be asking the neighbors if I could mow their lawns............This is my first Zero Turn, and probably my last, should last many years the way I will use it.

It should last you a long time. It is a semi commercial mower, so it is built much heavier than residential models. The fx engine is great. My s150xt is a 2012 model, so it has the same fx600v engine. If I mow weekly the engine has enough power for me to mow at full speed (10 mph) even going up hill. If the grass is tall like it was this week
I can still mow between 6 and 7 mph. That's faster than My old tractor would go at full speed. Mowing with a zero turn is a blast. I never liked mowing before I purchased mine. Now I can't wait for the grass to grow. Your dealer is right, you may be asking neighbors if you can mow their lawns. Don't forget to post pictures.
