Totally agree. Dixie chopper has a mower they claim can go better than 20mph, but there is no way it could mow that fast. Even if it could the rider would be thrown from the seat. Mine will only go 10 mph. Seems to cut ok at that speed as long as I cut every 5 to 7 days, but i can't mow that fast everywhere. It does cut better when I slow down a little though.

For Dixie Chopper, Hustler, Altoz and others there speed claims and what they've done to there mowers is all about being the Big Boy on the block. There speed machines with there 14 and 15 gallon fuel tanks and 35 to 37 hp engines are actually about worthless. They cost three times what there worth and cost three times as much to operate.

Again, I totally agree. Why buy a mower like that? It won't mow at those speeds. Why would anyone need a mower that has two engines and goes 25 mph. The deck can't handle speeds anywhere near that.

Lol, you would have to eat an awful lot of ribs to gain a couple hundred pounds. Backing up a hill is going to cause traction problems, even with extra weight. I have a power pole and some crate mertles that I have to mow around on a slope. I go around the top first and make the turn around them. I don't pull back on the way down because I lose traction. I let it continue to turn slightly back towards the pole, then I back parallel to the slope and go forward and turn back up the hill wrapping around the pole/tree. Works well for me and I don't chew the grass up.

I don't mind trying Lol, I am mowing around crepe myrtles also, it looks like your method will work just fine, I will try it out in a couple days.

I hate to get into this discussion about the commercial mower thing, but............my Snapper dealer who has been in business for at least 30 years says that the S50xt with the 3100 drives is a full commercial mower, it is designed to get in tighter areas than the larger mowers.
Snapper still rates it as a commercial mower............dealers are individuals and they have their own ideas of what a commercial mower is, the video that Snapper has put online states this as a commercial mower, it may not have the power to climb a tree but it still is rated as a commercial mower. It really doesn't matter fellas, it's still a darn good mower and it will last a long time.
Just my 2 cents!

Lol, no worries. I don't take things personal. Everyone has their opinion. I do like the s50xt. Nothing wrong with them. The s50xt has the heavy duty commercial engine.

The Fx600 Kawasaki is the top of the line engine and the drives are commercial drives, it's a commercial mower. The mower itself isn't as heavy duty in the way it's built as some are but it's commercial never the less.

I agree, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just don't dispute the manufacturer, there spec's and what they say.

Lol, glad to see you are not bashing snapper pro and ferris for a change. Not to start anything else, but you did mention earlier in one of your posts that you didn't care what one company (husqvarna) said because they will say anything to sell a mower.

Btw, ric I know you may think I am just trying to have arguments with you on this site, but I do respect your opinion on many things. I have read enough of your posts to understand that you know a lot about landscaping. I don't know what part of Florida you are in, but I wouldn't mind seeing your operation if I were ever down that way.

They will say anything to sell mowers, especially the Big Box store stuff. Mower dealers are no different than a car dealer. There reps. are there to sell there product and isn't funny that every dealership always has the best on the market.
