Report says eagle died of lead poison. Is there lead in mouse poison?

You did not fully read the article. Comment from the article.

Sagaert said. "After the eagle died we did a blood test that showed the eagle did not die from lead poisoning."

Now they did not update the article but they were running tests to what may have kill it.

The industry has reduce the strength of rat/mouse poisons as lower are less likely to get killing dose if they eat only one. This why it is so hard to kill off mice now with most poisons. Most usually dies in their dens now.

But about 7 yrs I a bald eagle that nearly died from steel poisoning. Luckily he turn his head in time.

I use the TRex reusable snap traps and then with the family is eliminated. I spray full strength Pine Sol all over the engine and access area's they hate the smell and stay away. The trick is to do this at least monthly to keep them discouraged....

Personally it is crazy to be using things that is known to attract the mice in the first place.

I had back telling about Ford using soybean wire insulation. They telling his son to be spraying the harnesses with WD-40 every month for they only cover replacing the harness once. IF get told that I just walk away from a new vehicle purchase and buy an older vehicle.

Make up some bags with moth balls...keep most pest away...i make out of burlap sacks and tie off...put around the equipment...

I take fine mesh Chicken Wire and stuff it in holes around air shrouds and other areas of entry. Crumple it up as mice can get through very small holes.
Stuff some Moth Balls in the mesh wherever you can. Put out bait as well if possible with no other animals around.

Mice and rats hate peppermint and cinnamon oils. This brand claims to last all winter (i haven't used it but tempted when current supplies run out). Just put a bag or two near your equipment.

I use these Victor paddle traps at outside corners of buildings with or without bait. Works like a champ. Thanks for the question, lots of good idea's listed. Always look for those little piece's of what ever hanging out of outside edge of the blower housing and the shield under the cylinder fins.

I've had problems with mice getting into garage. Finally decided to seal it up and stop all points of entry. Stopped 90% on mice. Last 10% enter when we leave door open in fall. So, overhead door is only open when necessary. Never leave door open unnecessarily. (Have wireless keypad on outside to close it from outside). Plus I keep a "resident" mousetrap set with peanut butter in a corner, near the overhead door. Keep them out and kill the ones that get in.

Whoa my pickup is 20 yrs with 340K on the meter. Still going strong except for the rear bumper I bent recently at Kroger. And my Honda is Accord is a 1989 with 310K miles. At least they don't takes a specialist to repair them.
