hustler raptor with kohler 7000 engine gas in oil filter

i changed my oil and when i went to take the oil filter off it seemed like there was a little gas in the filter..the mower runs good with no smoke..i have a possible stuck float needle or could it possibly be the fuel pump..im trying to get the money to get it looked at but cant right now..just trying to see what possibilities there are

Drain and change your oil first, if there's gas in the filter, there's gas in the sump too.
Can only get in there from the carburator as far as I am aware. You should see higher than normal oil level when gas is present. Sometimes this happens when your machine is sitting over night or for a few days you'll find your tank is empty next time you want to use it.
