Interesting question. Why not have fun and choose the color you want?

As to me, I think green or orange would be good. I don't like red. Then although I may pick blue for a car, I'm not keen on doing that for a mower :)

I know it's silly, but color is quite important to me. I got a very good deal at the end of the season once on a mower that was bright orange. It just looked awful because it didn't match the color of my house, which is purple, at all! Had some left over housepaint and I guess you know the rest....

This is an interesting topic that i never really thought about before. I've never chosen a mower based on color but if I could do so it would always be purple, my favorite! For those who have painted a mower themselves - tell me more. Don't you need special paint?

Purple house, orange mower, where's the problem?

Mine is a bright orange and my husband and I chose it together. I'd say whoever does the most mowing should have the final say but, in truth, the colour was of secondary importance.

I love the mower painting idea! I have no problem with doing the yard work and mowing the lawn, except that my wife will not let me hear the end of the color of mower we bought. She was dead set on a green one. We got the red one that was $200 less. Automotive paint is the answer!

I LOVE the mower painting idea! It could be a whole new marketing niche to paint mowers and other gardening tools in "fun" or "designer" colors. I really think you're on to something, Harriet!

My friend's husband specifically bought a yellow colored riding mower. He did this, believe it or not, not because it was the best brand, or was reliable or anything practical. He did it so when he left it in the car port at the side of the house, everyone passing would see that he had a riding mower. Weird if as me. :confused2:
