    Ditch dilemma?

Build one of these Wish I had enough sense, time, and money to build one.

Is my problem the park Plug Gap? Mower manual says .040, engine manual says .030.

I have a fixer upper YTH2348 Husqvarna mower (Model 960430035 00 - Serial 120806B002718). It is powered by a Briggs and Stratton Intek 23 HP engine (Model 445577 - Type 0755 E1 - Code 061117YG). It sat at a friend's house for a couple of years with a rusted out deck, oil leak, and flat tires...

Mini Boom Mower attachment for rider

Anybody ever tried attaching or building a boom mower to a rider? I have been thinking of a practical way to get a boom mower on one of my old riders. It would come in so handy for ditches and pond banks! A trail mower would never do what this thing could do. The weight distribution and...

Great location for a squirrel nest

At our second home, I finished up mowing back in early November and parked my Husqvarna in the garage and put my old ATV tarp over it. We have lots of pecan trees at many homes in south Georgia, including ours. The afternoon sun shining into the open end of the garage and the tarp made a very...

    Driving mower at night

I do it a lot. I mow early mornings now and then so that my day can be free. I added a headlight to my Snapper last year. I bought a wide angle beam instead of a projector, and it works well. I added a single fog light to the rear so that I could see when backing up. I wired and fused directly...

    LED Light Bar

It's not hard to add a hookup direct from the 12VDC battery by adding an inline fuse and rocker switch. Just be sure to turn off when engine is off! Leaving lights on really zaps a lawnmower battery. I confess that I have learned that the hard way.

Husqvarna 2346xls front wheel alignment issue

Hmm, sounds familiar, only my YTH21K46 that I purchased this past May came from the dealer like that, I am pretty sure. More comments follow pic. Note how the right wheel is turned out, though the steering wheel was turned straight. The left front wheel is straight, but running like this veered...

No brakes and will not stop

 A rope and brick for emergency brake would work pretty well, as I've threatened to try. First I tried a set of Fred Flintstone brakes and was disappointed.

Husqvarna Manual overstates the amount of oil needed when changing

The Operators Manual recommended amount of oil overfilled my YTH21K46 at oil change. I did my 25 hour oil change today. The sticker under the hood and the Husq manual read that the capacity with an oil change is 64 ounces. I changed oil and filter and poured in two quarts of oil. Well, now I am...

Help me find a better lawn sweeper!

I've been using a sweeper a little this year for the first time. It's a little challenging to get the brushes set right so that they'll pickup grass without bogging in and locking up. Raise them a little and they miss a lot of grass. Then you also have to worry with emptying, emptying again...

    Questions on Husky weights

From the Husqvarna accessories area of website: "1 pair - 62 lbs - Fits most lawn tractors (LT/LTH models) and yard tractors (YT/YTH 2005 & prior models) with 18" & 20" tires." LINK HERE From the Husqvarna "Answer Army" area of website: "Wheel weights mounted to the wheel rim are no longer...

    Questions on Husky weights

I have several running feet of ditch bank to cut. I get a lot of spin with lots of traction problems with my YTH21K46. I've thought about adding water to the tires, but learned that manufacturers discourage that with the hydrostat transmission, as it adds stress to the hubs and the...

    Gasoline Storage and Transport

I am one who likes to stockpile enough gas to run a month or two in my equipment. When I have time to mow, I want to head out the door and mow, not having to worry about making a trip to the service station to get gas. I do use ethanol free gas (have to drive a ways to find it) and add Sta-Bil...

    Blades Straightening bent blade

I hit a hard piece of pine root this morning and bent one end of one of my two blades. It now cuts uneven. I got it better by putting in vice, but still a little off. Should I keep trying to get even or replace? Should I replace both blades rather than just one, keeping everything even and in...

    OK... Let's See Your Mower!

My 2012 Rear Engine Snapper, 30" cut and 14.5 HP Briggs and Stratton, complete with custom headlight for nighttime mowing or early morning mowing before going to work. It's about a year old, pleased so far. It replaced my 1992 model. My new Husqvarna YTH21K46, about six weeks old, complete...

    Convert string trimmer to edger?

I replaced the string head with a brush head on mine and used for an entire season. It's really tedious holding that thing straight and steady. I tried to get smart and build a caster assembly attached to the main shaft with slotted angle hardware, and had moderate success. The head I used...

PIC THREAD: Post your Snapper RER here!

Here is mine. It's only a year old, but seems to be in the running for competing with the 1992 model it replaced. We'll see if the Briggs is as reliable as that one with the Kohler was for twenty years! First is an image of it at work early in the morning before daylight, second is a shot of it...

    Husqvarna vs Cub Cadet

Well, Ric, you are so very right. I should have known better, but I get confused sometimes. :confused2: Here is a pic of a label on the outside of a Husqvarna accessory box I just received. In case the reader of the post does not want to necessarily click on the thumbnail, it lists the...
