Advanced ignition timing will have that effect at starting RPM. The ignition occurs before TDC, so the piston is pushed backwards. The pull cord ratchets are designed for one direction of rotation, so when the engine turns the opposite direction the cord gets abruptly yanked back.

My 2020 Exmark manual lists 13psi the correct pressure in the "Front Caster - All Models" (that covers 44" to 60"), size 13x5.00-6. Tire pressures are only listed in the front of the manual in the Specifications section.

All of the above is predicated on the idea that there is no fuel in the tank OR carb that is over 6 weeks old. You MUST be using fresh fuel.

BAD idea ! Remove the filter and blow compressed air through it in REVERSE direction if you want to unclog it, but most definitely re-install the filter.

XKE had that low nose and very sleek cowling. Because of that, I think the radiator was undersized, and so the extra oil carried off a lot of engine heat. BMW does the same thing on their "Oil Head" boxer engines.
