Got the new spindle, and the length of the shaft is longer than my original one. Yet, on the site from the supplier the # matches the MTD #. Should I complain to the seller? Could this still work? I fear the different length will elevate the pulley higher, and the belt will not work right, or...

People, MTD rider, bought a new spindle, and need to remove the pulley and put on the new one. I have an impact wrench with socket and wondering if anyone here ever had luck doing this as opposed to using an impact (air powered) wrench. Thanks, people.

Have an old MTD rider mower needing new spindles, and last time I replaced one years ago I had a friend use a impact gun to remove the nut. Is that the only way to do this? Planning ahead, so I am prepared. Thanks, people.

Yes, i tried that. Will shift rear/forward. And the mower is in gear (wont move at all). Si then I figured let me try starting it again and see- same thing- when engine runs (idle) shift wont budge either way. Thanks!

People, MTD rider mower, from 1998, Starts fine, wont go into either forward or reverse. Stick shifter seems to move in the right directions, but transmission will not engage. Will post my model # in minutes if that will help.....
