Put tire on rim while on the mower

I'd try to get the tire off with penetrating oil, letting sit for several hours. Also, an extended wrench may help. I keep several pieces of pipe around for these kinds of projects. That strikes me as easier than trying to get the tire on the rim.

Wife too weak, push button start gas engine-- Not interested in Electric Mower

Clearly there can be problems with any type of power equipment. And not all brands are equal. In terms of cordless electric, I have an EGO 14" chainsaw I use for trimming and smaller trees. Afterward I got was so satisfied I purchased a blower and then a string trimmer but not a mower because...

Wife too weak, push button start gas engine-- Not interested in Electric Mower

schreib69, good luck with your search. IMO, it's just as well as the cc600 seemed to be overkill for your need. Perhaps you can reconsider a cordless electric (battery) mower like the EGO I mentioned in post #3. They are well suited to small areas (large areas, too - for a lot of money) and...

Long-time self-propelled mower user looking for first riding mower

I would think about a riding mower as a multi use machine. In addition to mowing and picking up clippings, you can add a cart, sweeper and other attachments. But, consider how much space you have for stuff. Besides the mower, a cart, vacuum (for clippings) or sweeper takes up a lot of space...

Wife too weak, push button start gas engine-- Not interested in Electric Mower

The CC600 is an OK machine for a particular need. If you're in the USA, the CC600 goes for $1,200 and should be in stores next month. So, $665 with free shipping is a bargain, or maybe not. I looked up my lawn tractor on that website and it goes for $1,260 vs $2,600 at HD. I also have a...

Wife too weak, push button start gas engine-- Not interested in Electric Mower

I have a Cub Cadet with a Kohler engine and electric start, but it's a lawn tractor. I think it's great. I wasn't aware of a Cub Cadet gas powered walk behind mower with electric start and without a B&S engine so I checked their website. They have around a dozen walk behind mowers. I didn't...

Wife too weak, push button start gas engine-- Not interested in Electric Mower

I know what your OP said, but I suggest you consider a cordless electric (battery) powered mower. They're lightweight, easy to maneuver, and easy to start. And they're perfect for small areas. Look for a 6 Ah or higher battery. If Lowes is convenient, check them out as they offer different...

    champion spark plug RJ19LM

    champion spark plug RJ19LM

Jack I agree. But why even sell fake plugs for only 20 cents each. I would guess its a mistake. It pays to buy 240 for only $47.80 and sell them on eBay for $5.20, each. That's below the lowest price SOLD on eBay for a profit of $500.

    champion spark plug RJ19LM

Seems like a great deal. Interestingly they have 1 for $3.96 so I can't see why they would sell 24 for $4.78. A 24 pack goes for $68 on eBay.

    Honda 217 HRX not starting

I'd start with the basics. Start by checking to see the gas line isn't turned off. If that's OK, replace the spark plug and air filter if you didn't do that before storage. I'm wondering if you stored the mower properly which could cause carb problems.

    Battery Maintenance

Not bad. My tractors original battery lasted 12 years. Current battery is 11 year and still going strong. My last pickup truck battery lasted 14 years. My zero turn mower battery is the 10 year old original. My smoke detector battery lasted 20 years and would have lasted longer if the house...

    buying a new mower

As with many items, mowers come in all shapes, sizes and price ranges because not everyone has the same needs and budget. IMO, the best mower (or any tool) is the one best suited to the job. For some mowing jobs that may be a Ferris but for others a reel mower will do.

Mower tucked away in the shed

Most owners winterize their mowers and leave them for the season. Depending on your climate, your mower may have oil that works well in warm (mower season) weather but not when the temp. approaches zero. Beyond that, your mower's battery should be removed and stored in a reasonably warm...

There are a few John Deere and Ariens zero turn mowers available for under $3,000, but I wouldn't go that route because you're getting a bargain basement machine. Instead, consider a quality new Snapper mower like the SPX could be a better choice. It will allow you several accessories which...

Best Grease for Honda Rear Wheel Drive Components?

    Remington Arms = bankrupt

Saying a gun is a tool is like saying an M1 Abrams tank is a tool. Tools have a purpose, and an AR-15's purpose is multiple killing. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not anti-gun just like I'm not anti-tank. I just don't think an AR-15 or an Abrams tank belongs in my neighborhood.

How long do mower blades last ?

Kohler initial oil change - filter, too?

Thanks to all for the input. My inclination was to change the filter, as well. But, the manual maintenance schedule shows changing the oil and filter on separate lines. Under the 5 hour column the oil change line is checked but not the oil filter line which, to me, indicates that the filter...
