buying a new mower

Buy a cheap mower and you will have to replace it more often. Buy a good brand mower and pay a little more for it with good maintenance it will last for years. My Ferris is going on 20+ years old and still runs and mowes as good as the day I bought it.

As with many items, mowers come in all shapes, sizes and price ranges because not everyone has the same needs and budget. IMO, the best mower (or any tool) is the one best suited to the job. For some mowing jobs that may be a Ferris but for others a reel mower will do.
