thanks again guys --I did some searching on the net about Deere ZTs and wasn`t to impressed, also read somewhere that Deere may stop selling the ZTs but I don`t know for sure..

I also think the Titan is the best bang for my$$$$$
My hot divorced neighbor has a JD ZT. It is a 900 I think, I only wish she had a smaller mower or larger yard. She mows in 10 minutes.

Going to take a closer look at the Titan. With a $500 rebate the Titan moves to the top of the list. Problem becomes once your in the door you start looking at the MX and next thing you know you're towing that baby home. What is the cost of the zx4820 Titan with the $500 rebate?

That depends on how and where you buy it. I've seen it priced online from $4049.00 to $4999.00. Generally speaking if you buy from the dealer they can cut the MSRP a bit but with the rebate it would be hard to say what price you could get the mower for.

If that's true JD would not be selling much more than lawn tractors! They stopped selling push mowers, and now maybe some of the zero-turns?? :confused2:

That doesn't really surprise me, JD make great agricultural equipment but they never really made it in the lawncare for some reason. from what I understand they are making a push for selling the Honda mowers. I guess that about tells you how much faith they have in there own stuff.

How do you think the Toro Titan compares to the Gravely HD series? Looks like the HD is similar to the Titan MX series. Do the Titan decks hang on chains like the Gravely HD. The floating/hanging system appears to be on many commercial mowers.

Oh, I don't know about that. JD has always been a staple for garden tractors. My perception is that the ZTR are and have been gaining momentum for quite some time. With ZTR vendors like Toro (ex mark), Scag, grasshopper, Dixie chopper, etc; they are not top on the list.

With the quality of these ZTRs, JD takes a back seat and more and more people want a ZTR. There are less and less applications for "garden tractors". JD still makes the only tractor worth buying though. Just my opinion. But what do I know, I am just a noob.
