I have done lawn care for 25 years. I use echo or stihl you can't go wrong with either one. My current echo is 5 years old no problems at all. I also have a stihl that is 7 years old with no problems. I will probably get another 5 or 6 years from each one.

we used to put husqvarnas on our sealcoat trucks they would last ten years

I see this is an old thread, but I wanted to chime in here,I bought a husqvarna 323L for the golf course I work at about 10 years ago,I wanted a stihl, but my dad (owner)had a friend who owned the husqvarna dealer, and basically I had to buy one..I wanted to hate it,but I have to tell you, that trimmer is my favorite now.it had been abused for 10 years by many employees and tossed in the back of a work golf cart and bounced around for 7 months out of the year and it is still running strong!it must have 3000 hours on it easily...I had the spark arrestor screen plug up twice before I tossed it because my guys mix too much oil in the premix..I liked it so much I bought 2 of them for my landscaping business..what I like about them is there only 9 lbs,and yet have enough power and are strong enough to run a steel blade....and they start easily all the time..an fs90 is so much heavier and more fatiguing to use,I don't think you could go wrong with a sill, husqvarna, echo, redmax as long as they are commercial grade trimmers..

I run the Still FS 90R, 110R for seven years in my business and never had a problem with either unit and there still running strong. The Echo SRM 210 unit I had lasted one season along with the PE-200 edger. I'll stay with Stihl.

I currently have a Husqvarna because that was the best I could afford at the time, but I've always been partial to Stihl or Tanaka myself. I just saw Tanaka makes a straight shaft trimmer with a 71" shaft which would be awesome for me since I'm 6'5" and my back always hurts after using pretty much any other trimmer. I think thats my next one when the Husqvarna is done. On a side note, I think my husky is a 128ldx, it will accept different attachments. My mom just bought an echo, not sure on the model, but it two accepts different attachments. Just holding the echo in my hands, it feels like a much higher quality piece of equipment. I havn't had a change to use it yet, nor has my mom.

If you use the Echo let us know what you think!

I actually run A Stihl trimmer and a Stihl blower. However I started up last Summer. I bought a Poulan Pro blower figuring if it made the rest of the summer I would replace it with a Stihl. I actually bought the Stihl blower off do a site on Facebook. All I know is that as good as the Poulan Pro runs and as reliable as it has been it will be hard for me to over look buying another one unless it bites the dust soon. It normally starts second pull in the morning and first pull the rest of the day. It has had many, many tanks of gas run through it.

I am sure we will buy a back pack next summer and it will either be a Stihl or Shindiawa. Most likely Stihl. However if I buy another handheld I will probably buy another Poulan Pro.......
