Re: Health Report
My left knee has the "Big 4:" torrn miniscus,Baker cyst, bursitis and arthur-itis.
Had rooster comb injections last year. Probably gonna do the same again.
I am resisting 'arthur" surgery. I have been told that pretty much assures that you'll "kneed" a knee replacement someday.
But, mu knee pain is manageable. The kidney is another story............goin' to the doc tomorrow to discuss treatment options...
Hang in there, Skipper.
Ron,
I am truly sorry to hear that your left knee has the same problems mine had! I wonder why it's usually the left? Are you right handed? I am. My meniscus was destroyed, (they showed Becky pics) - she said it looked like shredded sauerkraut. I had an injection this Spring but it only lasted two-months. Then these last two months have been miserable, I was taking two Ibuprofen and one Tylenol every six hours like clock work day in and day out until a week before the operation when they told me I had to drop the Ibuprofen. (I have been told that combination works better than many drugs. If you are in pain try it!)
Most of my meniscus has been scrapped out and when that was done the Doc discovered a small area where there was no cartilage left and there will be bone on bone contact. That doesn't bode well for that knee joint.
I waited far too long! I have friends who've have arthroscopic surgery on their knees and have total relief for over five years. If I had done this five years ago, I might have been pain free for that period of time. I don't believe that having that sort of surgery in itself leads to joint replacement, but if you've waited as long as I did, you may need it due to additional damage.
I'm still hopeful that after this has healed up I will have some relief.
Good luck on the kidneys.. I don't know what they can do, kidneys are rather important.. Keep us posted.
