Re: MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild

Finally got all the parts for my pressure washer, now to see if the unloader valve was the problem, been into a lot of research on these things, and so much has changed in the past few years, I was surprised to see how complicated these things can get to be when you go into the pressure washing business, most awesome one I ever saw ( until now ) was when I worked at a Marina for Yachts, they have a 15,000 psi machine for blasting barnacles off the ships, ( most of the yachts were a minimum of 100 feet ) that thing could be heard a 1/4 mile away and you had to be at least 175 lbs. to work with it, and then you needed a break about every 10 min. to rest your arms from fighting the gun pressures, THAT is one helluva a machine. Anyway hoping to have my lil piss-ant 2200 psi machine going soon, time will tell the story ! ..

YUP ..... it was the unloader valve as I thought ! changed it out to a newbie and set and locked in the pressure now it's like a NEW machine, the old unloader was past it's time.

Next Project ! my FS 90R decided to go on "vacation" now ! New carb was only $12.00 more than a re-build kit, pick it up in the mornin, first time I have had this machine apart (except for valves adjustment) 5 years never a problem....... the diaphragm took a dump ! .... NO COMPLAINTS !! ..

More on Brakes

Is there ANY advantage to the truck or driver to balance the braking system by using the larger rear brakes
(which would be the same JB5 system as the fronts and the booster) vs balancing performance of the smaller
JB3 rear brakes by means of an adjustable proportioning valve??
Assuming, of course, not requiring the JB5 system due to higher loads............

There is a sizeable difference in cost, as I already have theJB3 rears, and the adjustable PV would be less than $40.00 vs the cost of the JB5 components.
