now that winter is spinning away into spring, there will be less fire calls from chimney fires and co alarms.......should be able to chime in on a more regular basis at that point. Of course when summer arrives and people start camp fires in the woods....a whole new ball game will be upon me

Some people never learn with chimney fires. One of my neighbors has had 3 of them. Every fall she buys green firewood for her woodstove (because it's cheaper), stacks it in a 3 sided lean to type shed (with the opening facing north away from the sun of course) and then wraps the stacked wood with tarps. The wood NEVER SEASONS and despite the multiple chimney fires she just won't listen.

of course at 3pm we get call for a brush fire behind a garage, get there to find a 1/2 acre involved and another 1/2 acre smoldering.....and why?......because they have been dumping their fireplace ashes there for the last 2 months....Danny and I knocked it down quick and we ran a fireline to prevent spreading from the wind.......sometimes you just wanna smack these people in the head with a nozzle.......at least we got there before any of the structures got caught up in it
