Mowing that much you need a high end machine, me personally I would look at my unit and preferred due to the power the 960R.

The reason I am saying the R series which it is the most expensive of the JD Ztraks is the ride, power, and conveniences of the machine, plus they all come with the 3 year or 1500 hr warranty and for the first 2 years it is unlimited hours, so if you put 5K hrs the first two years it is covered under warranty "just an example".

960R
Also I would go with a 60" deck and I will also recommend you DO NOT go with the MOD deck, you want the 7 Iron Pro deck.

If you JD dealer does not want to deal, I can hook you up with my dealer they are pumping out the Ztraks this year and he beat everyone's price within a 100 mile range of me.

I have always planned on looking at the JD and almost all those I know who have a ZT, complain that the weakest part of their mowers is the deck. I plan on making sure that the deck is the STRONGEST part of the mower.

Thanks, I live between Murfreesboro and Shelbyville and my farmland is in W. Tn, near Dyersburg. You as well as others have been a great help.

I've settled in Mount Juliet, grew up in Tullahoma and lived in the Nashville area for around 20 years. It's good to talk ZTR's with fellow hillbillies on the forum:0)

You hit the nail on the head when you said jd is expensive. Their mower prices are high as giraffe nookie lol. Can get just about any other brand that offers the same quality at a much lower price.

Today I tested an Exmark 60 inch X series zero turn with a Kawasaki engine. I have about 25 acres of farm, pasture and down sides of horse trails. Some smooth and some rough Lots of Bermuda and cogan grass etc. I do not want it golf course manicured, just clean. About five inches tall. Lots of pine trees. What are the thoughts on the right zero turn mower? Have a Kubota 4wd diesel tractor that been wonderful but it's just too slow. Thanks for any help. Wallace.

If I had 25 acres or more to mow I sure wouldn't be messing around with some 60" or 70" ztr I'd go check thiis mower out and cut some mowing time.
The Hustler Super 104 is an affordable wide-area mower with the maneuverability of a zero-turn. Features include Kawasaki FX1000 engine, 35 or 37 HP 104 cutting width, Hyper-Drive System, Grammer premium suspension seat (standard), simple, service friendly design, and hydraulic wing deck lift. The Super 104 can mow up to 84 acres in 8 hours at 10mph and will mow where most wide-area mowers cannot.

But lacking the JD quality.

Nope. Jd isn't the only company that makes quality equipment. Just like any other company some john deere products are even poor quality. I have been around john deere equipment for 30 years on our family farm. Make good equipment, and some bad. To say it is better quality just because it has green paint and a deere emblem on it is fandom just like people get about their ford, Chevy, dodge, etc. I know electric over hydraulic switches seem to be the best thing since peanut butter until they go bad after the warranty has expired and you have to pay for repairs. Will make you wish they had stayed simple. Most of the other mower brands offer the same main components jd does. Engines, hydros, commercial quality deck. The rest is just what people want to pay for paint color, and the different things each company focuses on such as suspension, different deck design, and controls.

Well I'm sorry it has taken so long for me to report on my or should I say my wife's equipment purchase. Due to the Exmark equestrian discount program it pushed us over the edge. I was setting up a Ferris demo when my wife texted me she had made a deal. The neighbor who helps her with mowing preferred the Exmark. Thanks for the help pictures to follow!!! Wk
