Around here with cash in hand, no financing this is what you can purchase.
JD 960R $12,300 out the door
Gravely 460 $11,900 out the door
Ferris 3100Z with big block $11,900 out the door
Exmark Lazer X series $11,800 out the door

So to me the extra pennies for the C&C package out ways anything else and JD is the only one with the that C&C set-up right now.

John deere 31 hp Kawi. Ferris 37 hp. Compare apples to apples big daddy. Can get is 2100 with everything the 960r has for 9000.

That's interesting price comparisons(KY should be relatively close to TN prices). I would have thought, though, that the Exmark Lazer Z X series would have been closer to the JD price(low to mid $12k). If that is a 60" Lazer Z, that's a very good price out of that bunch!!

I was going to say something myself about the JD 960R comparison to the Gravely 460, but I didn't want to come off as a "JD hater":0)
But, the Gravely Pro-Turn XDZ 260 has the same level of components to the JD 960R and right now the "Haggle Free Pricing" at Gravely dealers shows a $9,399 MSRP with a Kawa FX. You could easily be OTD for < $10k.

Oooops...correction, to get apples-to-apples...the Gravely with a 27hp Kawa is $9,899 MSRP plus taxes, so you'd probably be looking at $10,200 or so OTD. The earlier price was with a 24.5hp Kawa(which actually would be fine for a 60").

Your not coming off as a jd hater just helping prove the point that their mowers are over priced.

Nope just tired of the smartarse comments always flying about JD mowers, I have ridden most and demoed most so I am just sick of everyone saying you are only buying paint.

That 960 looks like a great unit, just bigger than I need and more than I can spend, but would love to own one.

Don't let the others jealously get to ya.

No jealousy here. One of my best buddies just bought an 820a. Got it for a great price. He asked my opinion before he purchased it. 200 hrs in good running condition with some cosmetic issues for 4000. I suggested he buy it. Not a jd hater, just a jd new mower price hater. And yes you are paying for paint.

Ferris mowers are great machines. Is2100 is tops on my wish list. Just a little more than I can afford. Love my snapper pro. Will probably get the suspension seat and lights before next season. The paying for paint comment was a reply to nwatson99s remark.

Yes the Kohler engine is no match for the Kawasaki, but when I called and got the Ferris price that was all I had to work with.

NO YOU CANNOT!!
Now you go learn what the functions and features of the JD are, then you find a mower equal to it, then we will discuss this more.
