Hello,
I have very little mechanical knowledge, so I'm looking for some help. I have a small HF Champion 800w 2HP two stroke generator that won't run. I ran it dry at the end of the season, but recently got some new storage advice I followed, which was spraying a small amount of Stabil fogging oil in the the crank case and storing it with treated fuel (Stabil and Seafoam mix). Unfortunately, now it won't start (I already know... if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!)
It will run if I continuously spray the same mixture I put in the fuel tank directly into the carb, so I assume the mixture and the spark are good. I pulled the carb and cleaned it. I removed the fuel needle but not the jets, so maybe they're clogged. however, the generator only has about 4 hours of total run time on it and it was running when I put it away, so I don't know.
The longest it had it running was after I removed the gas cap (post carb cleaning), but that was only for 10 seconds. So, it didn't run... I cleaned the carb... pulled the starter cord a few times and it failed to start... removed the fuel cap and it ran for about 10 secs (with spaying a little fuel in the carb to get started).
Additionally, I know the fuel lines aren't blocked because I pulled the bowl and manipulated the float, which cause the fuel to flow.
Like I said, I know VERY little but I'm stuck on what to try next.
Any advise is greatly appreciated!! - Rick
