Pot is a herb and meth is a chemically made drug. Crack has nothing good in it for you. I People over dose on crack every day. Have you ever heard of anyone that has died because the smoked a joint? Read some study's on pot. No I do not smoke pot

I understand the chemical and botanical structure difference between the two. Anyone one who has watched a few episodes of Breaking Bad can tell you that. All I am saying is how can one mind altering drug be any different from another and then have someone adjudicate that one can be legal and the other one can not.

If the government would get out of the regulation of drugs and alcohol, meaning none were illegal and none were taxed, the drug problem would drop drastically.

Drugs like crack and meth would probably not even exist if it were not for the government regulations on them. If they were legalized and not taxed the value of them would drop drastically. Once the value dropped those in the business would no longer be able to make mega dollars. Like in any other business if there is not a profit margin there is no way to stay in business.

If heroine were legalized today in all 50 states, there would be no more new heroine addicts 6 months from now than there will be with all of the rules and regulations.

Also most crime would drop dramatically as well. An extremely large percentage of crime world wide is because of the drug trade. Much of it is to get money to buy drugs. A lot more of it is because of drug gangs who have become so powerful because of the money that they do as they please.

This sounds pretty but it wouldn't work people will always look for a way out and drugs are the easy way, make it legal and more people will have access ..... Besides those drugs kill people... Pot does not

Some life altering drug facts about legal alcohol, one of "those drugs":

Alcohol is the oldest of all recreational drugs.
Statistics show that more teens are killed by alcohol than by all illegal drugs combined.
Approximately 17 percent of men and 8 percent of women will be dependent on alcohol in their lifetime.
There are roughly 80,000 deaths that are related to alcohol abuse every year, making it the third highest cause of death in the U.S.
Alcoholism is a disease that affects over 14 million people in the U.S.

Lol... it's true you can't legislate morality. And hell, most legislators don't have any room to talk about morality to the rest of us.

Agreed... no comparisons between heroin/meth/crack and pot.
But... the only thing this war on drugs has accomplished is to make millionaires and billionaires out of thugs and criminals. In the 60's and 70's there weren't any powerful cartels south of the border. There was organized crime groups who controlled the supply of hard drugs in small areas of the US and their equivalents overseas. Nothing like the powerful Mexican and South American cartels we have today or the highly organized biker gangs whose leaders wear suits and ties now instead of colors and greasy jeans.

I don't understand how one drug can be legal and other ones can't. Why not just make crack legal as long as you don't drive while you are high on it. That's the message I getting. It doesn't make any sense. It's rediculous.

I think all the propaganda got to you at some point. Alcohol and cigarettes are much much more deadly. Any statistic will prove that. Legalizing pot just takes the power out of drug dealers. Just like ending prohibition crippled the mob's power. Pot is nothing compared to actual hardcore drugs.

I think legalizing pot has mainly opened up a whole new market that can be more competitive for growers here in the US. It's still illegal for marijuana to come from Mexico. It will still keep coming but, if I were selling it, I'd rather just go get it from a local grower and buy it from there.

At least that way you can see what's growing, how it's handled, and no one is getting killed trying to carry it on their backs across the desert.

The sad thing is, it probably won't create a lot of new jobs for legal citizens. The growers will soon realize they can hire illegals to grow and harvest the crops.. and a lot of them will already be experienced.

So, what have we gained from it all? Taxes.. More taxes to be collected and lost in governments programs that don't do any good.
