I don't always insist on High end equipment, but Yeah I insist on high end equipment that gets used on a daily basis because when your actually doing lawn care you need to have equipment that works and be able to do any job that a client wants done. You say I only ride 1.5 acre lots and that's because it would be silly not to I mean I have a crappy Murray rider and you think your making money when in reality it's costing you money? You and LMF want everyone to by Honda and Echo because you don't know any better.

I only recommend it when it's right for them.

Can you really say one brand is the best or better than the others if you have not used them all?

I have used many brands over the past 30 or so years. Do I use what I think is the best brand? No I use what I have found fits my needs for me and my helpers.

For a homeowner with half a acre there is no need for a $400 trimmer but he does not need to get a $60 trimmer.

What would be nice is if some of shop owners and or small engine techs would talk about what trimmers come into there shops and what is the good and bad things with them.

That's my point Carscw, how can you recommend or say one brand is the best or better than the others if you have not used them all. How can you make a recommendation to buy Honda and say it will last for years, how do they know how long they are going to last when they themselves are still are not old enough or just old enough to have a drivers license.

You have not had the TurfMaster for long, either. And also you keep bashing Honda but you have only had a lower-end Honda mower. Trust me....the HRX is way better than the HRR!

It doesn't matter what model it is, I've run there Honda 160 cc and there 190cc engines. I was running Honda mowers before you were born. Besides how would you know what Honda's I've owned or for that fact what models and how many different mowers I've owned and or run in the last 43 years. Let me ask how many mower have you run in the last 43 years??

You are right ric I have only used a handful of craftsman a few low end toros lots of high end toros a scag 36 a exmark 64 a toro 64.

I can say however how long a residential use of a honda till last because the amount of hours and use I put on my honda is the equivalent to years of use by a home owner. I put 30 hrs a week on my hrr he might do 30 hours a year that's why I am so confident. Do I believe honda is the best? Absolutely not I prefer toro proline but they cost 1200+ but a honda with light use will last a homeowner a long time with proper care. Hell a craftsman will work wonders for a homeowner with proper care.

I feel bad to recommend anything commercial to a homeowner because they are going to spend way to much money on something that is really unnecessary for their usage . I like to recomend mid grade equipment for the ease of use the longetivity vs a low end. And ease of repairs and cost of repairs.
