Was able to use my mower tonight. I was very impressed with the power of the engine and capacity handling of the deck. Knowing I got the smaller engine option I went in skeptical, but only in the heaviest of grass did I notice any issues. And I haven't mowed my yard In over 4 weeks, so some areas were super thick.

I didn't time myself directly, but the hour meter says 1.4 hours now. My previous best was 2 1/4 hours. So I am going to be saving a lot of time, because today I slowed down over the high grass areas.

Grass clippings are somewhat clumpy, but like I said I was making hay out there. The cut looks amazing otherwise, but no evidence of a striping kit at all. I mowed at 3 1/4, which my old mower would have crapped out at. I checked my deck level ness before I mowed and it was almost perfectly level without any pitch, maybe a 1/16 down in the rear.

The controls are a lot stiffer then my old worn out toro, but much more responsive. I found the seat very comfortable and my feet are supported nicely to support myself when things get rough. I will be getting the insert, mind as we'll have the best ride possible! That is if I can find a dealer to sell me the items, hard to find online. The deck really discharges the grass quickly and lays down a carpet like cut. My dogs like to carry small tree limbs and such around the yard and mowed over a few of these such items. Shot these items out like a rocket, even with the chute down.

Afterwards I got out the leaf blower to get all the tall grass clipping off the top,of the deck. They all blew off nicely except for around the outside spindle next to the discharge chute. The mounting hardware for the chute didn't allow me to get in there and clean it out, I had to dig in with my hands and got most of it. If this issue remained I might remove the safety cover from that spindle.

Overall grade.... "A"

Mowed a under a demanding condition with ultimate success!

Lift the discharge Shute up and slide it forward so it rests on the bolt. There is a slot on the bottom side of the shield just like it is on the other side. You should be able to blow the grass out with the Shute in the up position. Some grasses don't stripe well, and if your grass was too tall it may take a few cuttings before it greens up to show stripes. The icd deck does leave a great cut. I have had a little trouble with clover, but I got rid of the clover this spring. Good to hear that the engine has the power to cut the tall grass. I was concerned that the 20 hp fx Kawi I have on my mower would not be powerful enough to handle the 48" deck on my mower, but it surprised me on the first mowing. These mowers are well built.

I think I'm gonna remove mine also.
Too much work to clean. I'm lazy.
I see a lot of lco's that have removed them also around here.

How are things going with the s200xt diamatron? Any luck with your dealer? I hope you are able to get the suspension insert. I rode dads on his lawn again last week and it is a huge difference in the ride. I hope you are able to stripe your lawn this year. If you cut it regular at 3.25 and it gets green you should start seeing stripes (depending on what type of grass you have). If not you may have to raise your mowing height a little more.

Probably just have to show up at the dealer in person and see why thy ditched me. I used to mow at 3.5 before because it's all the power I really had, and noticed more striping from the vacuum alone then I have now.

What type of oil is the general census for being best in our mowers? I am leaning towards using sae 30 Dino oil. It's done we well in the past. But, I have switched to synthetic in my autos, so debating on mower. But they don't make plain 30 wieght in synthetic.

The oil debate gets nasty on here so be warned. You do whatever works best for you is all I can say lol

Totally agree with that post. Many different opinions about that one. Whatever works best for you. I use 5w 30 synthetic and have had no issues. Haven't thought about it, but slowing down May help with the striping. I run as fast as I can and get some stripes, but it would probably do better if I ran at a slower speed. I just can't help myself. I enjoy getting on a long straight away and letting it eat. Try to better my time every time I mow.

We're you able to see what I was attempting to describe with the slot on the bottom side of the shield on the discharge side?

Ya. Both spindle covers have a small opening on the outside edge. I was able to blow the one side clean
, the the discharge side gave me trouble. I will try propping up the chute next time.

Thanks.

Keep me posted on how you like the engine. I have friends who ask me about ztr mowers all the time. It would be nice to have some input from some actual commercial turf engine owners.

Now that shughes said it first he'll be the one they go after lol. I also use 5w 30 synthetic in my mower based on what the dealer says he uses on all Kawasaki motors he services.
