When I engage the mower the blades will not not turn or when they do turn on it comes on really slow and not a full strength.

I noticed the pulley idler is very loose. Is this normal? Could a bolt have come out?

Engaged mower dies when I try to cut the grass.. if I sit idle (engaged) and away from grass the blades turn faster..

Need help

Welcome to the Forum!..cxcal1.. You could have a bad idler pulley, or spindle pulley bearings it sounds like some pulley bearings are going bad bogging it down. How does the belt look?

Belt has some play in it.

Not sure if thats from the pulley issue?

Should there be a bolt in the middle of the pulley ilder?

Yes there should be a bolt in the middle of the pulleys. Can you post the model#?

There should be a slot on the front center of the deck right in front of the idler/ pivot pulley arm.
