That is why I said, Yes for sure no big deal doing it that way. Didn't mean anything by it and its a very good option. The beer can idea didn't sound too bad either, only thing would be I would like to empty it first seeing in the 90's here today. Nothing better then a good cold Genny beer on a hot day.

I went years not drinking.
Started a new life ( still with my wife )
A few months ago. Been drinking a beer or two once in a while. Just taste so good after working all day.

Sold my house. Living in a camper while we build our new home.

I too needed a bowl gasket, but instead of doing all these great ideas,I simply went to searspartsdirect.com and got the carburetor rebuild kit.About $11-$12.Which when i got it I had all kinds of gaskets. Some of which I wont ever need. But if I ever want to make my own bowl gasket again,VOILA!!! your extra material.Paid for it self in the long run.

Beer an does not make a good gasket because it is hard drawn, or cold back extruded to be exact and costed with paint on both side neither of which is fuel proof.
Hot rolled ( full soft ) aluminium works just as well as full soft copper.
If you have a very sharp knife and a steady hand you can cut a slice off the end of some fuel line.
I used to do it with the bacon slicer then SWMBO made it quite clear what part of my anatomy would get sliced fine should she catch me doing it again.
