You can read whatever you like into most any post but this isn't my car and I don't have any connection with unless I buy it.

From what I see on this forums membership, activity and responses you don't need to be reprimanding anyone when you are speculating. It won't take much of this type of crap for me to say Bye, Bye. Just let me know if and when I need to.

If I hit a nerve so be it. To me it looks like some one's selling. You can stay and I'll go. No ones going to miss me. If you think I should say BYE all you have to do is say so.

That car might get to 20k.
Hey Rivets, it's the front porch....if you don't like it, stay off the porch.
I've posted a bunch of car pics myself. Everybody likes a classic car....except you aparently

A lot of us would miss you Mr Rivets. I would like to thank you for all your contributions to this forum. I have received a lot of valuable knowledge from your posts. None of us that I know of would like to see you leave. We are all here to help each other out so lets keep it that way.

That's bad I wish I could buy it

My point is, if you would like me to leave this forum just say so. I will leave and not post any more. There's always some one to take my place. Probably someone who knows more than me. If you don't like what I have to say, you or anyone else has just got to say "We don't need your kind" and I'm gone. According to many I'm just a wrench monkey anyway. Again, that's my point.

Since the posting, I have been able to contact a great grand daughter via the auction company and had a short visit . She said, in a family a family discussion, it was mentioned the only thing that had been replaced as far as parts was the belts. If I recall that was common in those days sometimes at less than 10,000 miles . The advent of the serpentine belt was a good thing .

I would like to buy it too but I don't have an oil well .

Lets see, 42 year old car, at 25,100 miles, averages out to about 11.5 miles driven per week back and forth to church by some little old lady I would assume.
The only thing I see that is not original or the wheels and tires. I always liked the 72 SS model with the 454 and stripes.
An old girlfriend I had in the late 70's had one like the one pictured. Vinyl tops, bench seat and antenna imbedded in the windshield. Most were pretty much junk by 100,000 miles.

You have mistaken Passion for sarcasm, well deserved sarcasm.
Why would you post something like this unless you have some kind of obsessive/compulsive disorder.

The guy has obviously been exposed to to much ethanol fumes, starter fluid, or grounded to many magnetos.
It's pretty clear he's an LMF addict, over 2100 posts since March.....he will be back, he can't help it.
Perhaps he knows he has to stop as the time here is starting to affect his alternative lifestyle.....
Just a guess, I really have no idea. I don't care if he stays or goes. You mentioned he has a lot to offer so....we shall see.

No one has said leave, so why should I? After 34 years of teaching future mechanics, I have learned how to be both sarcastic and passionate. Obsessive/compulsive, I doubt it. In the 40 plus years I have worked in this industry, I have answered a lot more that 2100 questions. I have worked with engine manufacturing engineers and service tech. I may have been the guy you called for help. I have also worked on probably more different engines and equipment than half of the pros on this site. Do I know it all? Absolutely not. I learn something from every posting I follow, some of it is good knowledge and some sarcastic. One thing I have learned is how to recognize who's words of wisdom should be followed and who's should be trashed. Those who don't like what I have to say can just trash it and me if they like. Will you hurt my feelings? NAH. A wise man once said," You can't fix stupid, but you can legislate stupidity". Sometimes I wonder which some of the posting I read are trying to do.

Now I'm wondering why I should leave. This is getting to be fun listening to others. Kind of enjoy the role of a troublemaker and not of a troubleshooter.

As you see if you say what's on your mind here your a troublemaker as we have a few cry baby's here.

I think your best at being a troubleshooter then a troublemaker.
Just saying

I have been on this forum for some time now and find I don't always agree. You have to stop and think you are going all over the world and in different countries with a lot of different personalities. If someone offends you on this or any forum it isn't the place to be. In my life time I find there is always someone who doesn't agree with me. When I tell someone how to fix something its how I would do it , right or wrong. So if you want to leave so be it, you will be missed. And by the way NICE LOOKING CAR.

Back to the off topic portion of the thread . In the lower left corner of each post there is a small black triangle that states " report post " . I interpret that as - - let the administration decide if a rule was disobeyed - - rather than members attempting to police the forum.
