I've usually had much better luck pulling on a wrench than pushing. My hands are scarred up enough as is. And my main use for a crescent wrench is holding a bolt head - or bending a lip on a piece of metal.
Like Tom got 3 shifters all over 3' long
Only use for them is bending the lips of decks back into shape

Wise man once said "pushing on a wrench is pushing your luck"
Many years ago, like 40, helping a friend work on his race prepped Kaw 400 tripple. He was in a hurry and using a pair of pliers to pull a stuck fuel line off a carb. When fuel line came off he hit himself in the forehead hard enough with the pliers to make him dizzy and nauseous for about 15 mins. Blood everywhere.

I've busted & squeezed my knuckles using this more times than I can count. Especially when taking idlers off of decks. It's a lot easier to do idlers with this while the deck is on the mower. BUT, there's not a lot of room sometimes.
