Overeating and becoming so sloppy and huge you can't even occupy just one seat on an airplane is a 'vice', too.....but I don't see these people being sanctemoniously crucified at every turn, on everyone's lips.......

Beg to differ - over-eating and obesity are hot topics these days. Far more so than smoking...

What's with this? "Sordid"? "Vices"? Overeating and becoming so sloppy and huge you can't even occupy just one seat on an airplane is a 'vice', too.....but I don't see these people being sanctemoniously crucified at every turn, on everyone's lips.......BAH! We also built this country on slavery. Now that's something to hang your head in shame about.

Your absolutely right... couldn't agree more...

Like I've said before, I like the way you think... :smile:KennyV

I haven't seen the Surgeon General's warnings at McDonald's yet.......or on candy bars.......or chips, dip, butter, bacon, doughnuts, sugar, etc. I also don't see the checkout clerk looking at your wasteline, and charging you a 500% upcharge in taxes because you obviously don't need the food in your cart for survival.

No, fat people have a long row to hoe when it comes to being persecuted for their "vice".

Give it time... after more folks die from it, you will find all those things and then some. Matter a' fact it has started... that is in part why there are nutrition labeling being required now... :smile:KennyV

I do believe that nutrition labeling was so people knew WHAT was in their food......so it was harder for the big businesses that produce garbage to promote their offerings as "healthy".

The point isn't that I want these laws....the point is, where will it stop? What will be the next scapegoat as to all our ills? Who will be the next one to pay for their 'vice'? Who doesn't have one? If you think you don't.....then PRIDE is your vice........

Oh I'm sure we all have them... and I do see your point...

But the fact is nothing drives, or motivates people like money or death.. if there is a way to link either, you will find a cause going after it... all part of this 'social' structure we all are enjoying... :smile:KennyV

Studies show, that living will kill us all.....

In case I haven't made it blatently obvious by now - I'm not a big fan of society myself. It is a needed evil, one that I have as little to do with as possible. I don't fit into it, and that's alright by me.

,,, society .... I don't fit into it,

Life is the leading cause of death.

Most folks don't fit into society ... but rather adapt to it .... sometimes that adaptation takes a lifetime...:smile:KennyV

PS ... I think I've sidetracked this thread far enough... back to the OP question... seems to be very few....

Don't take credit for MY sidetracking..........I am the one that brought Cigarettes (is that word profanity yet?) into the mix......

As to the OP's original topic. I have smoked a few....I like the smaller, half-inchers......usually with wooden sugar-sweetened tips.......they are all I can stand.....did smoke a pipe for a long time though. I LOVE the smell of pipe tobacco! Lit or not.....I even love the way it makes a constant pipe-smoker's car smell. I loved Captain Black Gold, myself. I mixed my own a few times, wasn't as good as I thought it's be. Love the sweet-sour taste of pipe smoke, too.....think I'll find me a pipe again.

We, in our town, had this cool old newsroom - they sold newspapers, comics, cigarettes, cigars, and they had glass jars of all kinds of tobacco to mix your own pipesmoke. I had a humidor, and the like. That place was so cool. He was an old guy, and he'd saved all the advertising from every cigarette brand he ever sold. Had the best ones hanging up......also had a huge carved wooden Indian to greet you at the door. But, the place was so tiny! I so miss it.
