We, in our town, had this cool old newsroom - they sold newspapers, comics, cigarettes, cigars, and they had glass jars of all kinds of tobacco to mix your own pipesmoke. I had a humidor, and the like. That place was so cool. He was an old guy, and he'd saved all the advertising from every cigarette brand he ever sold. Had the best ones hanging up......also had a huge carved wooden Indian to greet you at the door.

Now THAT's where I want to hang out!

It was so cool....they had lottery there, too....and all the old guys would just sit there and BS and talk about the old days......it was truly like no other store I've ever been in. All the while, you could smoke away....how I miss it. Did I mention that? When you went in there, the guy'd put his elbows on the counter and just gab as long as you want, if it was a slow day.

BTW....just ordered a pipe...... Gonna get me a pouch of CB gold for it. I don't know why I stopped. I actually liked the ritual of caring for the pipe. Probably, if you're gonna smoke a pipe, it takes a commitment. Like cigars, there is no quickie drag on a pipe. Unless it's another kind of pipe, but that ain't my thing at all.

The name of the shop was 'Humidor News'......if that tells you the kinda place it was.....just great for a tobacco lover.

I do believe that nutrition labeling was so people knew WHAT was in their food......so it was harder for the big businesses that produce garbage to promote their offerings as "healthy".

The point isn't that I want these laws....the point is, where will it stop? What will be the next scapegoat as to all our ills? Who will be the next one to pay for their 'vice'? Who doesn't have one? If you think you don't.....then PRIDE is your vice........
Like with the tobacco,They don't want you to stop any vice ,its a great excuse for raising TAXES TAXES TAXES on it.

Back in the early 70s used a lot of roach clips but not for tobacco[shh-don't tell anyone].Had an operation when I got back from Nam at the local V.A. ,woke up in the recovery room and in the next bed lay a guy that weighed 800lbs.I thought I was hallunicating but he assured me I wasn't.By the way in some seed catalogs I've seen tobacco seeds for sale.If I still smoked that would be the way to go...russ

My son took me to one of his watering holes yesterday. Had some Flying Dog Simcoe Ale. Holy crapola - that was some GOOD #$%!

I fired my pipe up the other day with a bowl of Anniversario. As I was smoking it I wondered how you were making out with your pipe. Glad you enjoyed it
