Run at Full Throttle? Pt 2

Just by giving it a warmup period you're treating it better than 95% of owners would. Sounds like you have a good grasp of how to take care of it!

    Honda Mower Cam Shaft Recall

Important distinction - Honda completely redesigned the GCV series recently, and the recall involves the compression release failing on the newer GCV170 and GCV200. If yours is over 10 years old, it's a GCV160 or GCV190 which didn't have this issue. The GCV160 and GCV190 are also OHC which makes...

    Troybuilt TB320 with Briggs 98J02 0006 F1 Throw Away

Yes, and most other brands of engine will fit as well, including Honda. If you go Honda, try to get it from a non-Honda branded mower. Honda engines installed on Honda mowers use a different sump cover and you'd have to cut some bits off to make it fit your deck.

New Briggs Vanguard 40 hp EFI

I don't see Briggs going away anytime soon in the US at least. Even if they were to start cutting parts availability for old engines, we're talking about a current model here, not something made 50 years ago. The big block Vanguards are excellent engines in my experience and I would take one...

Residential use, Which is better ? new 163cc Briggs vs 160cc Honda

The 163cc Briggs and Stratton has a tendency to overheat and seize if you look at it wrong. I've never had this issue with other Briggs models. The Honda GCV160 is a tried and proven engine. I'd prefer to have a separate cylinder head, but since it works well I really can't complain. The Honda...

    Intek v-twin valve adjustment procedures

Hello everyone. I have un-disappeared myself, and it looks like several new techs have joined in my absence. Welcome to all! Question... What valve adjustment procedures do you use on Briggs Intek V-twins? I'm aware of the factory procedure (setting each cylinder at 1/4" off TDC), but I'm...

Looking at first new Commercial Mower, I have questions.

I don't have any info to offer on Bush Hog in particular... but currently Snapper Pro is widely considered to be the best bang for your buck when it comes to commercial ZTR's. Basically a Ferris without suspension. Might want to check them out if you haven't already...

    Exmark Radius pulling

Have you checked your owner's manual for adjustment info? Sometimes they'll include instructions for "adjusting the tracking" (that's the official name for the procedure.) For clarification, when the control bars are in line with each other (either in forward or reverse) it pulls to one side?

    The benefits of PD.

I've been purchasing through PD since 2017. As with all the distributors I buy from, I pay for all orders via credit card at the time of purchase so I don't have to set up or manage a line of credit. They have been great to work with, I have no complaints. Parts arrive in 1-2 days from date of...

    Snapper Pro 48" Deck Spring

I have a Snapper Pro CZT19480KWV in the shop, and it's missing the tensioner spring for the deck belt. Apparently it fell off and got lost on the owner's lawn. The spring is discontinued, and I haven't found one available anywhere online. Does anyone have one or know somebody who might?

    Echo PE200 Edger Carb. Problem

If you are installing the screw with the trigger in this position, that's incorrect. The upper portion of the trigger will hit the screw before the engine even leaves idle. The upper portion of the trigger should be on the other side of the screw.

    Question - Kawasaki FH541V

Just finished working on an FH541V, and I have a question about the voltage regulator. Here's what I found: - With the regulator not attached to the blower housing (held...

Kohler CV13T - Charging System Output?

This engine is on a Toro Proline 30159. It's the model with the electric clutch that runs directly off the charging system, no battery. Leasing Commercial Shop Space

I have decided to get out of landscaping and begin doing equipment repair and service full time. Been doing it from home, but I know I'm going to need a commercial shop space soon. What is the best way to go about finding a building to lease? I am clueless when it comes to real estate.

    Surging Honda GC160

The engine in question is a Honda GC160, serial GCAHA-2189925. It's on a customer's Troy-Bilt pressure washer. It starts right up and runs pretty well with a slight bit of governor hunting (not as smooth as some, but nothing out of the ordinary.) When you start pressure washing, it loads up...

    carburator springs

Here's one with a manual throttle control. It's an Intek so the setup is a little different, but the basic idea is still the same.
