I have a question,my mower is a 22 craftsman B&S engine rated to run at 3500 RPMs but l have my mine running at 3370 would this hurt my mower

I think that's what's wrong with my mower on miss firing is the cheap coil.

So cheaper is not a way to go,l found that out on buying a cheaper carb .and found out and purchased OEM part.

Would a new coil act up as far as intermittent to where it sounds like uneven engine firing.

It did settle down

I have two sizes on hand l know one 1/4 inch ID and one is a tad bigger.l think somewhere between the tank and carb is a restriction and maybe as previous mentioned by an experience mechanic.

Thank you,it didn't have one when l got it , quick question the larger the diameter of gas line matters

Is it necessary to put a fuel filter,l have fuel shut off.l put one just for heck of it.l heard that sometimes you get an air lock and is this true

It's got me puzzled because l take carb out inspect and retighen everything back and it works for awhile

Would a bad gasket between carb and engine cause bad suction to starve fuel

Thanks,will try to adjust the governor and how would l adjust springs if possible.l noticed that the carburetor adjustment screw does little to adjust fuel.

I checked it and I didn't find any faults,l removed and reinstalled switches and no luck,l know something is grounding out because l removed kill wire and it works great just no way of shutting mower

Is there a way of testing it other than checking for continuity

Star Tech if the switches test good should l be looking for a break on the cables

I have this issue again with the mower trying to shut off while releasing clutch/ brake pedal,l have taken the kill wire off and it works perfect,but l plug it back it tries to shut off.l double checked all three safety switches but no luck .could it be a ground wire or maybe ignition switch...

I like trouble shooting stuff, but electrical shorts are a nightmare to me but it's easy to say I'll take to a shop without knowing that l could of fix that. With this forum l am starting to learn how the system works on a riding mower.

Well Slomo l changed the fuel filter and noticed my fuel was running better and replaced the coil also and adjusted carburetor.l cut my back yard to get engine hot to test it and see if it would restart and it did.

I have a new coil that l bought awhile back, just haven't put on

I replaced a solenoid recently with an OEM . Starter is new,

Use my snapper yesterday morning and turn on as usual but after shutting it off and coming back to it no starting up .But l left it alone for about 30-45 minutes it starts as normal.any suggestions

It puzzled me Rivets,l guess the connection got dirty, but l cleaned it and l went ahead and put a new switch that got earlier,Thank you all for your Expertise 🙏

Rivets,l found the culprit,it was blade switch that was not making good contact.l jumped the switch with wire to test and sure enough it run perfect and reinstalled switch.l tested all switches to make sure and they were good.l also put new connector on ground to frame on the solenoid.Thank you...

Rivets,l just have to check every switch(3) and any faulty wires
