Have friend that has a CV25 Kohler that he swares has 8000 hours on it and still running. Have seen Generacs on Dixie Choppers built in the late 90's and used commercial and still running. No telling the hours on these engines. Briggs Vanguard is an excelent engine as well.

Buy the xtreme best clutch going. Been using them for ten years of so and have never replaced one yet.

That is a commom problem with these mowers. I see it a lot. Looks like they would use a better material instead of rubber which dosen't hold up to fuel very well.

Let me know where you can get a new Kohler CV730 for $1200.00 I would like to buy one for that. I am sure they run more like $2500.00.

You could loosen the rockers arms and check the compression again. To see if the lifters a keeping the valves open.

How did it run before you changed those parts? If it is a 10 Micron filter it can cause the engine to starve for fuel since the engine does not have a fuel pump.

Yes The engineers a Hustlers are a bunch of idiots. Anybody that would bolt a muffler to the frame is not too smart. The engine and the frame flex differently. Have seen a lot of the Hustler mufflers break because of this.

Take the top cover off the engine. Most of the engines have a half inch headed bolt with a torques star in the center of the bolt head.

Ever think the crank shaft might be bent? The farther away from the bottom of the engine the worse it would be and this where the clutch in mounted. Should be able rig some thing to check it. Just take the clutch off and check it.

If the pump is making a loud whinning noise it is usually the pump. You can have it checked with a flow meter and pressure gauge. Wheel motors usually feel like it is quivvering, Kind of like a chattering.

Check the ground cable from the battery to the engine. It bolts on the starter. Also check the wires on the electric clutch to make sure they have not gotten cut by the motion belt and shorting out.

What have you guys found to be the best stuff to glue a seat back to the seat pan?

Take out the plug leave it out and fill the hydro through the expansion tank. It will hold about 2 quarts. You can then finish filling the hydros after you put the plug back in. You will see bubbles coming out of the hydros into the tank until full.

Check the valve clearance. While you are at it check the compression release. Turn the engine over and watch the bottom rocker to see if it bumps off just before it reaches top dead center.

Air filters that have a screen over the paper can be oiled if done properly. Filters that do not have the screen over the paper should never be oiled.

Did you check the engine mounting bolts? If not please do.
