This Snapper section has the be the slowest

Look down on the shaft on to the disk. the horizontal shaft should be exactly over the center of the vertical disk's shaft. Is the rubber wheel shaft a hair forward? If Y, take a large flat screwdriver and wedge it into the bracket that holds the shaft the variable speed slides in and bend it...

B&S Quantum starts on first pull, but then refuses to restart unless sat overnight

Kerryn, When you changed the air filter, was it pretty dirty?? I ask because maybe if pretty dirty, it was working as your choke. If the carb needs cleaning, when the auto choke is open(aka motor is warm) maybe the old filter was choking it enough that it started warm. Try clean out the carb...

Craftsman 6.5 HP B&S Motor Surges, Have I Tried Everything?

Right when it dies, if u manually add\spray gas\starter fluid when it dies does it run? If no but it still sparks, I would check the valve tappet gaps when it is cold.

HRX217 transmission swap for less $?

From all the hondas that people toss(for misc reasons) and the nearby shop(for the same reasons), I have a trans sitting around if u r interested. "Anyone have any experience with this?" NEVER buy the honda that has variable speed. It works using friction plates that wear out. According to the...

Poulan Pro PR2322 gas hedge trimmer carb...?

I don't know how much trouble it would take with this particular application, but remember - so long as the engine gets the proper ratio of air and fuel, it can run. On that note, on my 70's FS80s, Echo SRM2301, BG75, etc. (also partly because of my being cheap) the carb that fits the latest...

    Changing Tecumseh Flywheel

It looks like your "new" flywheel does not have the magnets on the outside so no, it won't work on your original engine. All you can do is keep looking. Your motor does have the holes on the block to bolt on the starter motor right??

    String Trimmer won't start

Before buying a new carb, if it was me, i would get a spray bottle of soapy water and spray where the fuel hoses connect to the carb, where they go into the tank, and the gas cap itself to find if it is blowing bubbles(which it is NOT supposed to be doing) when u prime it. At lease that would...

    $40 Craigslist-find HR215 giving my 3y/o HRC216 a run for its money?

I had a HR215 (free curb shopping) I didn't have it long until it threw the rod. I opened the engine out of curiousity. It is like the Wisconsin(subaru??) motor on my snapper in that ball bearings top and bottom or else nothing to write home to mom about. If u need parts, i might still have some...

If it is running at the correct speed, true. Let the owner decide that. "cant really be adjusted" It is sheet metal, not a block of steel. it can be adjusted.

tecumseh mower been played with setting for linkages

No. That's normal. My Ariens has one. It is just that the motor has a fixed speed. The old H60's and the like with vary speed would be screwed down to the 2 vertical holes in your pic. When u get it running, bend this tab in or out to adjust the engine speed.

Looking at first new Commercial Mower, I have questions.

uttitanfan, I looked at a Bush Hog when i was looking for a zero turn. Comparable construction to other commercial zero turns. I...

    Flywheel magnet keeps rusting?

As said, a little rust will not stop the magnet from working but if u want to rustproof that and your ignition module, use linseed oil. Motor oil will fairly quickly dry up and it will rust in only a few months. I use linseed on alot of outdoor stuff like my metal wagons. After 3 years being...

    Gear oil replacement on rototiller

    Jacobsen "Lawn Prince 18"

"The wheels lock when pulling backwards " Is it self propelled?? If it is, something in the self propel is sticking. Today's honda mowers use a ratchet to engage fwd. catch is it also engages when u pull it back. back track starting at the wheels to find what is sticking.

    Bad checks

Texas is similar. Catch is you need to mail in 30 days them telling it bounced and in the letter you must have a certain phrase. If they still don't pay, then the police can arrest them for the rubber check. (As a landlord, eviction is also pretty sweet!)

    My experience with Honda mowers

Slomo, this is my personal observation: A vet friend told me that Germany made their guns in WW2 'too good' with small tolerances but they would seize up as they got hot from firing. True or not, this analogy explains most all the hondas i find. It seems to be like clockwork i find them when...
