Dude, plastic weld it up. If it was plastic that is. Did you get the replacement Rolls Royce part or what? LOLcaused a kink in the side of the tank which caused it to crack over time. So $473 and 2 hours of labor later had the tank replaced.

My original plan was to plastic weld it. But were the crack in the side of the tank it sits on a bevel on the tank between the top and the side of the tank. When the mounting strap was overtightened it pushed that flat bevel inward basically caving in the center of that bevel.Dude, plastic weld it up. If it was plastic that is. It comes down to how much time do you want to tinker with trying to get it right, when everything I posted in the diagram picture fits inside of the tank mounting frame.I know you are more than smart enough to skin this cat.
Grind threads off the strap as to not over slam the threads and eventually warp the tank. Thread locker will help here. A strip of pipe insulation or foam double sided tape under the strap. Something to buffer the tank from movement. Weld stopping or bottoming out nuts to the strap so you don't over torque it again.
Make a wider strap that mounts in a different spot?? Tack on some all thread and go to town. Add another strap 90 degrees off from the original strap.
You can hammer down or flatten plain old electrical cheap conduit to make a strap. Weld on as mentioned all thread for threads. Tack on travel stopping nuts. Thread locker.
Bungee cord from that Z bend metal tank holder plate across the tank. Put about 8 bungee cords on her. She will never move. Gorilla tape the sucker down LOL. This ain't the space program as Taryl says LOL.
