If people left me the heck alone about it, I'd have quit on my own years ago. So, I will keep doing it, out of spite...

Sorry man - that's just plain wrong.

So, I will keep doing it ... mainly because I enjoy it.

Alright then, rock on..

I lost two very close, young family members recently. Both were absolute models of healthy living. No smoking. No drinking. Healthy foods. Maintained their ideal body weight. Exercised regularly.

Bottom line - you never know. You can do everything right and die young. You can do everything "wrong" and live a long time.

I think the best advice is "everything in moderation".

I generally wash my dinner down with a glass of wine or beer also. And I like to take my dinners gradually over a period of about 10 hours beginning at noon...

That's funny....
OK, So I guess we can all make the lifstyle choices we choose too, the best thing about this country, not that I'm getting political.
Back to the topic....
I smoked 858's for years before the cigar craze kicked in about 10-12 years ago. Then it became difficult to get ones you wanted so you always ended up smoking something you didn't really like and spending way to much for it.
I could get a box of 858's for 15$ back in the day. A cedar box, not a cedar lined box, a solid cedar box, there's 20 cigars in a box. Now it's a little over a hundred, and those are far from the best. So, I haven't lit a cigar in years. I don't even accept them as a gift anymore.
Back off the topic....
Troegs nugget nectar? That's a stupid name for a beer!
Where can I get some?
I have never heard of it and I'm a beer lover(everything in moderation....these days anyway). I looked it up at one of the websites I use to learn about beer and it has an exceptionally high rating, so I need to find some.
Tröegs Nugget Nectar - Tröegs Brewing Company - Harrisburg, PA - BeerAdvocate
Thanks for the tip, I suggest you try one called "Spaten Optimal", came across it a couple of weeks ago and I like it.

Back in college, my buddies and I all agreed the best way to die was to go visit a house of ill repute, and ( bleep )yourself to death. Sent from mobile.

To you, maybe. But that's just how I am, that's how I roll, dude. If I'm just wrong, then so be it.

I like the quote "Rather burn out than fade away".....so i do nothing in moderation.

Alright! Now that's what I wanted to talk about!

I started on cigars about 5 years ago, so guess I don't know any better :ashamed: But you're right that the prices these days are crazy. And I find that the more you pay, the worse the product. I buy a box of cigars and it's over $100, and since I smoke one per evening it lasts less than a month. But I recently had a couple that were just excellent:

H. Upmann Edicion Limitada 1844 (mild, great flavor and draw)
Liga Privada T52 (short smoke, very rich and tasty)

For regular everyday I smoke La Gloria, which are very tasty and reasonably priced.

It's funny about Nugget Nectar - I never thought about the name but everytime I mention it to someone they have the same reaction - that's just WRONG! But the name refers to the HOPS - the picture on the label shows a fist holding a cluster of hops. Anyway, it's very tasty - slightly sweet with a nice bite of hops.

Glad to find another Beer Advocate lover. Here in the DC area there are so many places to find great beers on tap or cask. They all broadcast their taps via twitter, and I use Beer Advocate to see which ones are worth checking out.

I will definitely keep an eye out for Spaten Optimal. The beer store I frequent has a large selection of Spaten. That's an "old school" beer from Munich, which is probably why they resisted the urge to call it "Spaten Hoptimal", which seems to be the trend lately. Thanks for the tip...

Ha! That's great, my son says that all the time - "That's how I roll, Dad!"
