GREETINGS to all Dixie Chopper mower owners!

If you're new to the forum, please reply to this thread and introduce yourself and your mower (that is, if your mower have a name). Maybe attach a photo or two of your mower and show off your pride and joy.

Also, if you haven't done so already, you can upload a user avatar (picture under your user name). You can do so by clicking on settings and "edit avatar" or just click here.

Please be helpful and friendly to all other Dixie Chopper owners (how could you not, right?) and if you like this forum, tell your friends about it.

We want to make this the best resource for Dixie Chopper mower owners, and to do that we need your help! Questions? Experiences? Stories? Data? Photos? Articles? Links? Cool Dixie Chopper stuff? Post it here!

Last but not least, please let me know if you have any suggestions for the site. We'd love to hear them.
Hello, i recently purchased a 2001 X1901 Quad Loop with a 50 inch deck. It looks like someone has replaced the original motor with a Briggs & Stratton 18.5 hp Twin II. The engine runs but needs a a little work. It has no battery and I'm not sure where the battery should be mounted. I used a bungee cord to hold the battery in place to see if the hydros and mower work. It needs a seat, some new blades, spacer on one of the front wheels, parking brake, the right gas tank needs to be paired with the left (currently not being used) and some TLC. A manual might be helpful. I'm excited about getting it fixed up and running.

I have a 2000 X1901 the orignal engine was a FH series Kawasaki. Top main was bad and blew the seal. I replaced it with a CV20 Kohler. Great little mower only problem with them is they are short and this makes them kinda bucky over rough terrane. Battery goes under the foot pan take it off and you will see the battery box. It is in the front center behind the front cross bar of the frame.

Thank you! I will check it out tomorrow. I was about ready to use some brackets to bolt it on behind the motor. :0
