I buy this stuff 3 gallons at a time. Mix it 50/50. Cheap and works pretty good.

I have been using two different products. Primary using Alconox and then at times Dawn Platinum. Both which I use just two tablespoons full to 10 liters. The Alconox is a non residual soap and of the Dawn needs a raise cycle afterwards. This allows me to change the solution more often to keep things cleaner. I have tried the Awesome product since I have good luck with the other two products.

Simple Green works fine for me.

We also use SimpleGreen at a 5/1 ratio.

My problem is that I work with a lot two cycle cubes which are more pecky about what you can clean them with. 4 cycle carburetors are a lot less sensitive to the harsher cleaners but I did completely switch over from the dip cleaners back in 2014. That is when I outgrew the 1.5 liter USC. The 10 liters is barely big enough for some of the carburetors I work on now.

I use SharperTEK Shellac-Buster in my ultrasonic cleaner, can use full strength, just add as needed. Buy in 5 gal bucket since price went up. Works great & only need 8 to 10 minuets
when up to temperature. Still use both machines as needed.

I use simple green and LRC and water. Note: 2 cycle carbs - In my opinion are no longer rebuildable. It took me 2 years to make that decision 5 years ago based on the check valve either open or stuck closed due to ethanol. I rebuilt those carbs for 45 years with nearly 100% success until ethanol arrived.

Strange I only started rebuilding the cubes back in 2009 and rarely have problems with them except the Stihl mounted Zama carburetors which in the last couple years started having primer check valve failure along loose welch plugs which none of the kits contain the welch plugs that are problem ones. Those welch a lot of the time are missing before I get the carburetors [with a few coming out in the USC during the cleaning process].

Those cube mounted primers cost nearly as much as a new carburetor so new carburetors gets in those cases.

Don't know for sure if it is ethanol or not but you are right about check valves
New ones are not replaceable so now I have a 5 gal bucket full of dead carbs
I was going to pull them down for parts but they will probably go to the scrappie .
t goes against my nature to just swap but considering the cost of the carb is less than the labour rate for relacing it, fixing them is a big time waster .
