I don't know much about it but I would think it would be easier to make one that uses the main components of a regular mower, and just changes how it is moved (like video 1 or 2), instead of making some big thing with tracks.

OMG.........this mindset(inherent to a society becoming "too lazy" to do any kind of "work") may actually bring to bear the futuristic settings portrayed in many movies of a 22nd Century where ALL work is performed by "robots" and eventually(with their faulty artificial intelligience) they "take over":0)

Very easy to make one with your kid as a school project. But to really use one to cut your grass first off why?
For all the time and money your going to spend to make this and get your yard as level and hole and bump free It would be less energy and time just to get up and cut the grass

So a disabled person gets one then has to call a friend for help because it keeps getting stuck.
Your yard needs to be putting green smooth
So after you buy one or build one for a grand or more then a few grand on the yard again why?

Soooooo, R U disabled???? I am(polio survivor). When my Post Polio Syndrome gets bad enough that I am physically unable to mow my lawn, I will contract with user Ric or Lawn Mower Fanatic to come to Tennessee and mow it for me. You asked for "opinions" and that's what you got. And for those with a "small yard", I have a pair of scissors they can borrow. Lighten up......I was just making light of the thread topic as we all like to smile from time to time here on the forums. Sorry if I "offended you".
