I always do a quick pre-cut scan of each yard.. sometimes when the grass is real tall I can't see everything. Well barbie is headless now and an old oil drain can is stuck in mower deck. I'm at Wendys eating a burger fuming mad! It's inconsiderate to leave stuff in your yard, but that I can deal with. Its when I can't see it and run over that I get mad.

Isn't it fun  I like tennis balls those suckers really fly. Seriously though the thing that really upsets me is Golf Balls. 70% of my clients live next to or right on the fairways and I end up having to walk lawns before I mow and pick up the golf balls. Those things are awesome when hit by a mower, plays H E two sticks on the deck and blades say nothing about the things they could hit.

You can tell where my dog went "number 1" in the yard because the grass is dead and you can tell where he went "number 2" because the grass is super green! Cheap fertilizer!

You can stop that from happening if you stop feeding the dog meat or meat based products. It will help.

ric/lmf,
Now Fido may have some input about that(you know, canines by design are carnivores). If you take his meat products away and try to turn him into a vegetarian he's liable to stop being your "best friend":0)

Because dogs are carnivores or meat eaters they end up with a high level of protein in their diet, there system breaks the protein down and excrete it as nitrogen in the urine. Your grass has a high nitrogen content already and when he goes potty  the result is a killing of the grass from an overload of nitrogen. You will get the same kind of burn if you put a concentrated handful of fertilizer in one spot. Now whether or not he will be your bestest friend or not, well I guess you could hope he likes fish and add some veggies. Speaking of dogs and veggies, all three of my dogs like cabbage,:licking: you can only guess the result in that.

I call it turdalizer.. Its ok if the wind doesnt blow it back in your face, or you have to scrape it off the mower tires.

Horse Manure is great fertilizer and it's easy to use. Just fill some 5 gallon buckets half full of manure and fill the rest of the way with water and cap, let stand for 4 or 5 days the pour the liquid off into containers and spread in on your lawn use the remainder in flowerbeds and use it sparingly cause it's strong stuff.

Funny how sometimes a thread can "evolve" into a completely different conversation than the subject implies:0)

Yes it works well just don't get carried away cause you don't have to use as much. It also works with Chicken manure and it green a lawn quick. Of course that doesn't help the relationships in the neighborhood much but the smell only last a few days, it just leaves you with the greenest lawn in the neighborhood that makes everybody mad after the smell goes away. Just remember Horse works better than cow and chicken works better than Horse.

Awwww. Most of my customers have dogs and I hate it when they forget to clean up after it. Gets stuck in your tires.

Even worse when I forget to clean it. The next day I feel like putting on a face mask when I walk into the shed.
