Its been a while since I've posted on this site. I had every tree that has leaves removed this past spring on my property. As a result I haven't any need for the bagger until now when I'm getting the neighbor's leaves blowing in my yard. On my Timecutter zero turn, I notice the bottom chute to the bagger where it attaches to the deck always pops off. I wish they had a better design for this. I had to use two buggee chords to hold that bottom chute in place. The metal bar that suppose to go into a hole on the deck on the right side doesn't fit, it ain't long enough, and the metal clip in the middle that hooks under the flap alway pops loose. The rubber hook on the left side seems to stay connected. I mean for $900 you think they would come up with a better design. I guess I can live with the buggee chords. I use to empty the leaves in a recycle can for county pickup but I have gotten lazy and decided to dump them in the street when I saw a county sign posted on a pole saying leaf cleanup starting soon. That saved me a lot of work.

Hello ... just joined .. have had my Toro (w/Kohler 6.5 engine) for almost 4 years ... had to have the carb cleaned this season .. wouldn't start .. first time I had any problem with it .. should I be treating the gas during regular use? .. I always run dry before storing for winter

thanks

What model number is your Toro as I see that you have the elongated air box? I recently bought one to rebuild with the 149 cc Kohler engine (XTX675-13) and FWD. My Toro is model 20377 built in October 2010. It was a difficult search to find air filters because Kohler/Rehlko redesigned the engines to work with smaller air boxes, redesigned carburetors that dropped the diaphragm and used a different auto choke.

When I first got the mower, the oil was overfilled and very dirty. The former owner either couldn't find a replacement air filter or bought into the advertised fallacy of just adding oil without regular oil level checks or changes. The first oil change showed a tremendous amount of sediment and to be expected, a slight silver sheen to the dark colored oil. I added SAE HD 30W (automotive) since it was still summer. I mowed for a few weeks and changed the oil again and it was much cleaner as far as sediment went with just a faint silver sheen. Most of the grit is out that has been polishing the metal workings inside. I replaced the oil with 10W-30 Synthetic (automotive). I plan to change the oil again midway during the next mowing season.

I bought the mower from an estate reseller. I was told that it had sat unused for a few years. The seller replaced the traction cable, and rebuilt the recoil with a new cord and handle. I replaced the air filter (aftermarket), new gas line with hose clips (Briggs), Champion spark plug, Toro blade, Kohler carburetor, Kohler diaphragm, Kohler auto choke, Kohler dipstick and tube, Toro rear baffle, trailing shield (aftermarket), both FWD wheels (aftermarket), Toro right front wheel drive gear, and a Toro plastic cover for one of the height adjusters. Everything works now including bagging. I plan to keep the mower as the cut quality is superior to that of my two Honda mowers and my Toro Super Recycler. The cut quality may be due to the weight of this mower as it's very heavy.
