Sounds like the Z-Master is toro version of the exmark lazer series. The lazer is the step up from pioneer. Like djdicetn with the thought of the upscale, i would have gotten the lazer, but for the cost and features i got, i was very happy with my pioneer s.
Yep, when it comes to high-end residential ZTR's with commercial quality components you did very well. I would be "torn" if I had to decide between a Toro Titan MX or that Exmark Pioneer.

Thanks. Feel very happy with my Pioneer. Been about 3 weeks now and I continue to be impressed. Sure other top ends have impressed their owners as well.

You are keeping us in suspense! Have you gotten anything yet?!

LOL, sorry about the lack of posts these last couple of weeks. Since the bad run in at the Exmark dealership, I've stopped and re-evaluated things. I think I may hold off from buying anything until next spring. Even though my current mower is very slow, mechanically there is nothing wrong with it. It just doesn't make sense at this point. (believe me though, I am running the devil out of it )

My top three are still the Pioneer S series, Toro 2000, and Toro 3000. I have a feeling that the Toro 3000 would be above my price range of $7k. However, my brother in law (that just bought the 2000) has a buddy that is friends with a nearby Toro dealer. He throws business his way all the time and the guy gives them good prices. So, my next step would be to talk to this dealer and get the price on the 3000. Of course, I would have my bro in law's buddy grease the wheels first.

You might consider looking in fall and winter for dealers willing to give off season pricing. Just a thought to get a deal on any of those top three you have listed.

Took the words right outa my mouth:0)
I saved over $1,300 on my 2012 Gravely buying in late September over the MSRP plus tax for a 2013. Fall/early Winter is definitely a buyer's market!!! The only problem is the dealer has to have what you are interested in stock(if they have to order it they won't give as deep of a discount).

Ok guys, I'm sure you get tired of the "recommend me..." threads. However, here is another one! LOL. I am tired of spending +5 hours per week cutting grass with my 48" Craftsman. I've got 3 to 4 acres that I cut. The two most important factors for me right now are deck durability and engine. Most mower manufacturers all use the same engines, so it really comes down to the deck and the construction of the actual mower. I am looking for a 60" low to mid commercial grade zero turn. My brother in law just bought a Toro Z 2000 with a 23.5 hp (Briggs I think) for around $6500. Seems like a well built machine. Can you guys recommend me something for around $7,000?

If I gave you $7,000 to spend all on a mower, what would you get???

I love my EXMARK's. We have a 52" and a 48" and have been using them for over 8 years now. Can't go wrong.

Hands Down, a Ferris (Briggs & Stratton) 3 wheel mower. It is easier to operate, can mow under trees and bushes, is super easy to work on and you will not get to be a good operator of a zero turn unless you use it almost every day(like a landscaper). Fyi, if you don't live near central NY, you may have to look at other brands of front mounted mowing decks. They are the best!
