Bought a used 722D which is a 2005 with 480hrs. I went to buy filters and oil to change the hydro fluid today and the guy at the dealer said that is a 1,000hr. service item and I didn't need to. The unit is 8 years old though so I'm changing it unless someone on here tells me I'm throwing $120 bucks away to do that because the oil should still be fine.

The oil is very likely fine... (unless there is some evidence that water or some other contaminant got to it.)... Large system hydraulic oil systems will run a Long time, there is generally more than enough cooling & a Large reservoir.
But if it makes you feel better, and it will, change it. :smile:KennyV

I have found through the years of repairs that its better to change the oil more often then not enough. The oil will pick up metal chips and moisture. I have found that some units install a magnet in the bottom of the oil tank and it will pick up the metal chips plus the filter cleans the oil.

Thanks.. I agree - worth $120 just to know it is good. I'll change it.
