Re: Reading List

I've been reading the C10 service manual a bunch, as well as anything/everything I can get regarding cams,intakes,heads,etc....

Geez, I really had hopes of something more 'pithy' than a service manual.. But I can understand the need.. As they say - "Been there".. And of course with Boo around . . . a.k.a. The MANUAL KING . . . You find yourself absorbed in manuals more than you might otherwise..

I could send you a couple books if that would help? Where do your interests lie? (I mean outside of young lovelies leaning against old iron tractors.) Hey! I do have a copy of "How to Restore Ford Tractors" if that would be of interest, but I would like it back.

Rog

PS. Good luck tomorrow... I'll be thinking of you.. (And gritting my teeth!)

Re: Views VS Replies

WELL Goomba, MAYBE we scare most of em, they come here lookin to fix a mower issue, N then they walk-away talkin to themselves after seein the eye-candy, of course, .. they may NOT be a Deplorable, such as us either, guess it just depends whether or not they have raging hormones, like us "Ol-Geezers" do... ....

PS I don't care if they laugh with us, or, at us ........

That's cuz people read Boo's inanity, then leave.
Next they come back to see if they REALLY read what they think he said, then leave again!

Most of the time there IS no reply worth writing to his posts, and he is responsible for abut 2/3 of the posts to this thread...........:confused2:

I was wondering if I could post both of your replies on one page if they would cancel each other out.. Oddly enough, it doesn't seem to have worked.. But maybe it will when I hit "SUBMIT REPLY" Here we go...… . …. . . . . . . . …..

Re: Views VS Replies

I'm being BULLIED !!! I think it's suggested I go on EXTENDED vacation, I need to get back to more important things anyway, I've got 3-1/2 months of laundry to wash, time to go buy more plastic "silverware" N paper plates, the sink is full and the plates are pretty soggy, guess it's time to clean the carpet, the sand gauge is reading 2.75 inches high, I oughta feed the dogs too, but I think I'm outa cats already, they're gettin hard to find these days, well better start makin plans to go South for the winter, while I'm at it, been gettin below 70deg. the past few years... OH ...OH I see a cat in the neighbors yard, .. gotta go now........ where the hell is my net ..???

Now that's more like it! One of your better posts..

PS. .22's work good, but don't let the dogs eat the lead.

Re: MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild

having worked in a machine shop my advice would be to get a hold of the big mower bone yards and see if anyone has the parts used but in good shape. There are a plethora of mower bone yards out there, and MTD uses common parts with many other mower lines. Google "mower salvage yard"

example photo from Google. I have to believe that part is out there less costly than trying to repair the old one.

Ahh Haa! Sargent Kent! We have lured another 'poster' into our lair.. And he brings pictures of heaven on earth!

But why use Champion plugs when there are NGK's available?

Seems like I knew a poem about you... let's see.... how did that go? . . . . "There was a young fellow named Kent, who's willie was abnormally bent.. Finding it trouble, he'd put it in double and instead of coming, he went!"

Favorite Automotive Restoration TV Shows

New Topic!

Somebody the other day mentioned watching the All Girls Garage TV Show and having been laid up a bit lately, I have been watching more TV than usual.. (Reading too, but no one seems to be interested in books anymore.)

So I got to wondering which of the Automotive Restoration TV Shows there are out there are your favorite(s).

My favorites include:

Wheeler Dealers - I even like 'Ant' as well as I did Edd China

Iron Resurrection - With the Martin Bros.

I used to like Fast n' Loud but quit watching it when Arron Kaufman left. Now I'm trying Shifting Gears with Arron to see if I like it.

Of course Overhaulin' You have to like Foose and AJ. Jessi Combs was a great team member and now Arianny Celeste of UFC fame is on there.. (Google that Boo!!)

Vegas Rat Rods Builds some interesting looking machines

And if you're a Mopar person (sorry about that) then you have to watch Graveyard Cars at least the guys daughter shows up once and a while to break up the monotony of his giving you the exact part number of the correct ashtray for a 1968 Dodge Super Bee. Boring!!!!

Inside West Coast Customs is a sort of niche show, if you're into that sort of thing.

Speed is the New Black is another...

Of course we've already mentioned All Girls Garage but I expect some guys do some of the work when they are off camera and that seems a bit phony to me.

I've actually been to Wayne Carini's Chasing Classic Cars shop in CT

Then there are many more: Top Gear, Counting Cars, Gearz, Monster Garage, Two Guys Garage, Misfit Garage, Jay Lenno's Garage and probably many more that I've forgotten.

I've learned a lot from watching some of these shows. I've done metal work that I never would have tried before and other things as well..

So. What are your favorites and why? I'm interested.

Ron's .... Errrrrr Rhonda's .... incentive ..

View attachment 41041..
( I DON'T care for oversize wheels N the lowering OR raising of a vehicle, besides throwing off the vehicles geometry, and driveability characteristics ... IMHO it looks like dog-schitt !! FUNCTIONAL, but a good-looker is where it's at !! )

THAT'S MY TRUCK !!

(I agree on altering ride height.....)
