Latest garage door update
I spent yesterday installing finished wiring.
Up the stairway into the attic; back down again;
Repeat,repeat,repeat as necessary. (It was necessary a BUNCH!)
I was not able to run wires thru the ceiling between rafters as the attic is floored and insulated.
So, up the rafters, across the braces and down the rafters we went.
Poked a hole in the Hardibacker board ceiling for the old work outlet box and control wire.
I could not access my distribution box without taking down wallboard. Three are spaces available for more breakers,
but all knockouts in the top of the pox are populated with secured strain relief fittings. No getting in that way....
So, I wired it to the hot side of the attic light switch, which is on a 20a circuit with the doorbell transformer and smoke detectors.
I think the circuit can handle the 1/2hp motors.
I ran the control wire thru a utility closet and out the side which is the short hall out of the house into the garage.
I had to pursue any vias of opportunity in order to achieve a clean job.
Now, other than the metal skin on the top panel, Door #1 is complete!
In case anyone cares............
